Cars first owner Sir Frances Samualson BT a Baronet racing driver who competed in several GP,s and Le Mans & is in the Guinness book of motoring feats as the only racing driver that was racing before WW1 & after WW 2 . I have owned this car for nearly 30 years & covered only 6000 miles the total mileage is around 75,000miles I have totally restored it & love it.

This is body #54 and engine 139056 ...and 56th Austin-Healey 100 built. As much as possible, the person applying the various numbers tried to match up the chassis, bodies and engines with their respective numbers...not easy to shuffle cars and engines around, but he tried. So, in this case he managed to get the 56th engine matched with the 56th body off the line, maybe intentionally or just by accident. I have seen other match-ups, so I know he attempted to align thing back in 1953.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
