• Complete with all correct 100M features and BMIHT certificate
• Body-off restoration by Martin Hveem
This genuine, factory-built Le Mans model is authenticated by the 100M Registry and its Gold Certification by the Austin-Healey Concours Registry. Built on September 9, 1955, it is a matching numbers, original left-hand drive US-delivery example that received a body-off restoration that was performed to very high standards of correctness and quality over a two-year period by noted restorer Martin Hveem of Red Bluff, California. Prior to restoration, the car was remarkably complete and retained all of the original, factory-installed components that formed the 100M Le Mans package. During the exacting process, Mr. Hveem utilized original fasteners for heightened authenticity, and both the Healey's engine and gearbox were completely rebuilt in-house as well.
With only test mileage since completion, this show-quality 100M has been trailered to shows and events and is highly attractive in its original livery of Olde English White with a blue interior and convertible top. The seats are smartly piped in white to match the exterior. Presented in as-new condition, the Healey starts and runs well and features all the proper 'M' engine upgrades and exterior features characteristic of the 100M. Complete with its corresponding British Motor Industry Heritage Trust certificate, this vehicle is undoubtedly one of the best examples of the rare Austin-Healey 100M "Le Mans" we have ever offered.

This 1955 Austin-Healey BN2 Roadster is one of just 640 factory-built 100M examples produced over a 10-month span and was completed on September 9, 1955. The car was sold new in the US and was reportedly refurbished by Martin Hveem Automobile Restorations of Redding, California, in 2012 before it was acquired by the current owner in 2019. The car is finished in Old English White over a blue leather interior, and power comes from a numbers-matching 2,660cc inline-four with a replacement aluminum cylinder head paired with a four-speed manual gearbox with overdrive. This 100M is now offered on dealer consignment in Connecticut with an owner’s handbook, a tool roll, a soft top, side curtains, a tonneau cover, refurbishment photos, a British Motor Industry Heritage Trust certificate, Austin-Healey 100M Le Mans Registry and Austin-Healey Concours Registry certificates, and transferable New York registration.
The body showed evidence of prior repaints in red and green before bodywork and a repaint in the factory Old English White were performed by Martin Hveem Automobile Restorations in the early 2010s. The louvered bonnet is secured by a leather strap and is noted on the included BMIHT Certificate as factory equipment, identifying the car as a factory-built 100M. Photos of the body panels, brightwork, lenses, and windshield in the raked and raised positions can be seen up close in the gallery. The driver door trim and front valance are believed to have been replaced during previous ownership.
Painted 15” wire wheels are secured by chrome two-eared knock-offs and are mounted with Dunlop Road Speed 5 bias-ply tires. A matching spare wheel is mounted in the trunk along with a tool kit, jack, and knock-off hammer. The 100M featured a double-wishbone front suspension with stiffened coil springs and an upgraded anti-roll bar. Braking is handled by drums at all four corners. A blue soft top is fitted and can be seen in the gallery along with matching side curtains and a tonneau cover.
The cabin was retrimmed in blue with white piping during the refurbishment. Features include chrome emergency brake and passenger grab handles, a dash-mounted rearview mirror, and a 100M Registry badge affixed to the body-colored dash.
The banjo-spoke steering wheel frames Smiths instrumentation including a 120-mph speedometer, a 6k-rpm tachometer, and gauges for oil pressure, water temperature, and fuel level. The five-digit odometer shows just under 14k miles, approximately 300 of which were added by the selling dealer. Total mileage is unknown.
The 2,660cc inline-four features twin SU HD6 carburetors, 8.1:1-compression pistons, a high-lift camshaft, and a cold-air box, and was factory-rated at 110 horsepower. The engine was reportedly rebuilt by Martin Hveem Automobile Restorations in the early 2010s, and an aluminum cylinder head was installed. Engine stamping 1B/228363M matches the BMIHT certificate and chassis tag.
Power is sent to the rear wheels via a four-speed manual gearbox with overdrive that was rebuilt at the same time as the engine.
The British Motor Industry Heritage Trust certificate, 100M Registry Certificate of Membership, and Austin-Healey Concours Registry certificate are included in the sale.
