Car to be at auction 1/12
www.russoandsteele.com/collector-car/1959-Austin-Healey-Roadster/15691

Auction description:
1959 Austin Healey Roadster
Scottsdale 2012
Consignment # 1236
VIN: BN6L4296

This car is a fine example of the last of the 100-6 BN6 line and has had many upgrades to bring its performance in line with the later 3000 model. The 100-6 motor has been bored to 3000cc and houses all of the latest mechanical updates including a D-9 cam, BJ8 carburetors, Denis Welch headers, Monza exhaust, electronic distributor and Pertronix coil. A Griffin aluminum radiator keeps all of this technology cool. The icing on this well-built cake has to be the conversion to a 5-speed transmission using a gearbox from a Toyota Supra. This conversion allows for use of closer gear ratios to keep the engine in the power band and for effortless cruising at modern day speeds. The conversion also features a custom shifter and a balanced drive shaft to keep everything smooth.

Care and attention has not been limited to just the mechanicals. This car has been tastefully painted in a stunning combination of Brandywine and Champagne in June 2011 by Jim Michaud of Michaud Bodyworks. Expenses were not spared in the care and restoration of this fine car. Over $47,000 was spent and is reflected in receipts that are included with the sale, as well as 6 classic Austin-Healey books. Please don't let this timeless British jewel escape. It was built for, and will provide, years of enjoyable motoring.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
