This 1963 Austin-Healey 3000 Mk II BJ7 is a four-seat convertible which was reportedly stored in Texas for over 25 years, moved to Oklahoma under previous ownership in the early 2000s, and is said to have been refurbished approximately a decade ago. Power is from a 2.9-liter C-series inline-six mated to a four-speed manual transmission with a Laycock overdrive. The car was acquired by the selling dealer in 2016, and subsequent work included reupholstery of the seats in black leather, a brake service, and installation of a new fuel tank. This BJ7 is offered with partial service records and a clean Oklahoma title.

The Mk II BJ7 was a true convertible with a folding roof, a wrap-around windscreen, and roll-up windows. This example was repainted in its current red and black scheme during the refurbishment, though the selling dealer believes that the original color was solid red.

The car features twin bullet mirrors and chrome 15″ knock-off wire wheels wearing all-season radial tires. Disc brakes are equipped at the front with drums in the rear, and the selling dealer states that the braking system was serviced during his ownership.

New black leather seat covers with red piping were recently added by the selling dealer. A thick-rimmed wood and aluminum steering wheel replaces the original, though a hub-mounted trafficator switch has been retained.

The dash houses Smiths gauges including a five-digit odometer showing 36k miles, approximately 500 of which have been added under current ownership. Total mileage is unknown. A retro-style radio has been mounted under the dash.

The 2.9-liter C-series inline-six is mated to a four-speed manual transmission and an electrically-actuated Laycock de Normanville overdrive which can be engaged in third and fourth gears via a dashboard switch. The selling dealer states that a new fuel tank was installed during his ownership.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
