This genuine right hand drive 1964 Austin Healey 3000 MkIII is one of the last of the low chassis models denoting it to be a phase one and is entered from a private collection. It is a very genuine car with a known history and the very low mileage of 64750 miles would appear to be genuine from new with the car having been dry stored for over thirteen years. In fact the car has only completed a mere 14500miles since 1976.

It has had only two owners since 1982 and a full restoration was completed in 1989 and it is beautifully painted in British Racing Green over White with Black interior trim. It is in very good condition throughout and it is powered by the 2912cc six cylinder engine and has the manual four speed gearbox with overdrive and when it was started it sounded very well and showed good oil pressure.

It is being reluctantly sold due to the owner now spending most of his time abroad and it comes with the cherished registration number - 567 DRK, a photographic record of the restoration, the heritage certificate, the original handbook and a large history file covering the whole history of the car including records of the previous owners. It has a current M.O.T. certificate until July next year and road fund licence until April 1998 and it is genuinely one of the nicest Healey's we have had the pleasure of offering for some time.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
