Austin Healey 3000 Mark III BJ8 (Phase I). This great car was fully restored from the ground up in the stunning color combination of Healey Blue with Old English white coves and dark blue leather interior. This Austin Healey has a great history and has been very well cared for during its life. This car was built December 24 to January 1 of 1964. The original date of despatch was January 7th of 1964 to Kenosha WI. From the research we have gathered on this car, a Mr. Heath bought this car from most likely the original owner around 1974 for $800. The car was owned by Mr. Heath in Aztec, New Mexico until the early 1990s where it was sold to a Mr. Ward of Sand Springs, Oklahoma who did a lot of the restoration to the car during his ownership as he owned a restoration shop. He passed away, leaving the car in need of some finishing. It stayed in the Ward family until 2011 when it was sold to a gentleman in Kansas. We purchased the car in late 2012. Only 66,697 original miles are on this great Healey over its almost 50 year life.

In addition to the restoration, about $14,000.00 has been invested in this car over the past few years to go through everything, to finish the car and the car was sitting for a long time during the Ward family ownership, so it needed some attention. Some of the more recent work includes, but not limited to heater system repaired, overdrive repaired , new rear springs, tachometer rebuild, speedometer rebuilt, new rear brake cylinders, new slave cylinder and clutch master cylinder, new fog lamps, new water pump, new brake hoses and steel lines, new gas tank, new tires with brand new 60 spoke chrome wire wheels and spare, carburetors rebuilt. She runs and drives beautifully. The overdrive does work nicely. Furthermore the compression is excellent of 150psi to 155psi on all 6 cylinders and with great oil pressure. All numbers match as per the Heritage Certificate, including engine number, body number, car/chassis number on firewall and on the passenger side shock support.

To elaborate on the condition of this car:

Paint/body: The paint on the car is really nice and the body is very straight with no dents or scratches. There are no signs of body filler and the panels are excellent. The black antenna has been removed.

Chrome: The chrome around the windshield, door handles, rear boot hinges and chrome grille surround look good to very good. The chrome bumpers and over riders look to be in original condition or older replacements. We would say they are in good condition. The chrome strips above the doors and side spears are in excellent condition. The Dayton Chrome 60 spoke wire wheels are brand new. The bullet mirrors look brand new. The chrome motif bar and fog lamps are also new.

Interior/Soft top: The interior has been all redone with leather seats and new carpeting. The interior is in excellent overall condition. The canvas/cloth blue top is also new and excellent. The convertible top boot is also new. A newer and upgraded wooden Moto-Lita steering wheel has been installed. We do have the original steering wheel and it goes with the car.

Wheels/Tires: The 165/80 R15 (5) tires are newer and probably have less than 700 miles on them. The Dayton Chrome wire wheels are brand new, as are the chrome knock offs. The chrome spare is also brand new.

Underside/floors: The frame/floors and underside of this car are excellent. The underside is painted Healey blue (body color) as it should be. Also, the rear end is very clean and detailed. The springs are new and the exhaust is newer as well. The wheels wells are all painted Healey blue with no undercoating and look excellent with no signs or damage or previous damage. There is NO rust anywhere on this car.

Engine Compartment: The engine compartment is very neat and cleaned. The engine bay is body color (Healey Blue) as it should be.

Trunk: The spare tire compartment/trunk is very clean as well. A new spare tire (matching the others) with brand new chrome wire wheel is in the trunk.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
