1966 Austin Healey 3000 Mk 3 Convertible (BJ8) Phase 3. SN3215. VIN No. HBJ8L35130. Engine No. 29KRUH9861. Red with Red trim, Black hood and walnut burr dash. 4-speed manual/overdrive. 6 cylinder of 3.2L capacity. 3 x 2″ S.U. carburettors. Independent front suspension, live rear axle. Vented front brake discs and drums to rear. 15 x 6″ Dayton chrome wire wheels. Front and rear Koni shock absorber conversions. An increased capacity alloy fuel tank finished with an alloy flip-top for long range touring. 'Sports' engine build including an increased capacity to 3.2L. Breathing through triple 2″ SU carbs. Custom extractors. Electronic ignition. Alternator conversion. Cable throttle. Gear knob overdrive switch. Fitted with Dennis Welch spot light mount brackets, Cibie spots, alloy sump guard and headlight stone guards. The vehicle was once owned by a prominent Australian Club member since the mid 1980's. This Phase III BJ8 represents all the upgrades made during the Healey production. With re-profiled chassis members, the notorious ground clearance issues were greatly improved and with the fold-down fabric hood/wind-up window combination, the Phase III BJ8's are the most adept Healeys for modern day use.
