This Austin Healey 3000 Mark III BJ8 is a very original example of the late series of Austin Healey's production. The car is finished in the documented original color combination of Ivory White with Black. We have the British Motor Industry Heritage Trust Certificate that shows the original build date on November 14th thru the 16th, 1966 and what options were originally ordered. This further shows that it is a numbers matching car. Originally, the car was dispatched from the factory on November 22, 1966 to a final destination of Fort Worth, Texas. Through some research, we believe Overseas Motors Corporation, Fort Worth was the original dealer. For at least the last 20 years, it has called Fort Lauderdale, Florida home. The vehicle was purchased several years ago locally by a British car enthusiast with the intent to show and drive it along with his wife. They have done just that. It is has been garaged the entire time of ownership and has never seen rain or adverse conditions. The car has been shown in several of the local British car clubs shows over the last couple of years and done rather well. It is very reliable and drives exceptionally well.

Mechanically, the Austin Healey runs properly and is regularly maintained to preserve it current condition. Power is by way of a 6 cylinder engine, which runs smooth and has good power. Carburetion is by way of SU carburetors, which were rebuilt recently. The transmission is a four speed gearbox with overdrive. The clutch is perfect with no slipping or signs of wear. Miles are just over 53,000 and are original. The engine has had the values adjusted, and the ignition tuned for optimum performance and a great exhaust note. The front suspension had new bushings installed to preserve the original handling and recognizable road personality. The front shocks were also replaced as well at the same time. While apart, all of the suspension components were thoroughly inspected and cleaned before they were reassembled. Cleaning and tidying is a general thought on all of the servicing and repair undertaken while in the current ownership. The interior is all original with the exception of the dash wood. The original Burl-Walnut wood dash was replaced with a new wood due to cracking and sun bleaching over time. During the installation of this, all of the gauges, switches, and wiring were completely sorted and brought back to factory standards. New chrome wire wheels were purchased and installed with new tires. The convertible top is black and while not new, is in very nice shape. The bright work, or chrome plating on the car is in very good condition. There isn't any spotting or pitting on any of it. All of the glass in the car is in very nice as well. Overall, it is a rare car due to how original it still is. With regards to the body and finish, there are no real disappointments here either. The paint was refinished at some point, but is in very nice shape overall. This is a solid car with no corrosion.
