Owned by myself from 1971 to 1973, believed a total loss in about 1973/4.
A most original, and superb model of these vehicles, only sold to make way for a 1964 FHC 4.2 E Type Jaguar, that I believe is still on the road now, registered BBC 856B.
later traded for my current E Type

Chassis number 16040, was the last of the right hand drive triple carb 2 seater cars. Mine was the first car off the production line with the central gear change.

From research during my ownership, I found that this was the first Mk 2 car with a central gear change and fibreglass gear tunnel.

Hi Lofty,
don't think the email went so here is the content,
I see you owned this vehicle, and I was wondering what year?. I know I sold it in 1973/4 to buy an E Type jag, and the guy to whom it was sold let his brothers friend write it off. A great shame. as far as I know, it was never rebuilt, which is a shame, as it was the first of only 10 BN7's in Mk2 and central change spec to be manufactured. I have tried DVLA to trace it, but no luck.
If you can give any information, I would be pleased to hear back from you. Many thanks, A

I would dearly love to have contact with the current owner, if you are out there and use this site.

I used this triple SU carburettor car to drive to Copenhagen via both the Harwich/Hook of Holland and Flensburg, and Harwich to Esbjerg and Funen.
During my years of ownership, it never missed a beat, and was very well maintained.
It had been repainted in 1971/2, in its original Healey Ice Blue, and had an immaculate blue leather interior.
The first of only 10 RHD cars produced before the Mk 2a was introduced.
