Car to be at auction 7/15
www.coys.co.uk/auction.php

Auction description:
Lot 131 - 1959 Austin Healey 3000 Mk1
Estimate: £28,000 - £38,000
Registration Number: HBN7/3235
Chassis Number: WHO 799

In current ownership for some forty-five years, this lovely original Healey has been garage kept and used sparingly by its owner, an engineer by trade. The bodywork has seen some restoration work in the past, which included the fitment of new wings front and rear, and a full repaint.

At the same time new seat covers and carpets were fitted, as was a new wiring loom. The engine has covered a mere 500 miles since a full rebuild. More recently the carburettors have been rebuilt, a new fuel pump fitted, and the ignition overhauled.

Offered in original UK right hand drive configuration, WHO 799 is a rare 2-seater BN7 model, of which only 2,825 were produced, compared with 10,825 for the 4-seater BT7.

Fitted with overdrive from new, and offered with its original hard top, spares, original logbook and receipts for work done over the years, this is a charming Healey with bags of potential for its next owner.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
