This 1960 Austin-Healey 3000 is a left-hand-drive Mk I model that is powered by a 2,912cc inline-six coupled with a four-speed manual gearbox. The car reportedly was purchased by the previous owner in 1982 and acquired by the seller out of long-term storage in 2014. Subsequent refreshment performed by British Auto Repair of San Diego, California included rebuilding the carburetors, installing new master cylinders, and overhauling the fuel tank. The car has since been refinished in blue and white, and new carpeting, wheels, and tires were installed. Additional maintenance performed last year included the fitment of new shocks, a new water pump, and a fresh battery. This BN7 is now offered with a softtop and side windows, a replacement tonneau cover, spare parts, records from the seller, black California license plates, and a clean California title in the seller’s name.

Said to have been originally finished in red, the body received a two-tone repaint in blue and white in October 2018 by SV Body & Paint of Lemon Grove, California. The work included re-chroming the bumpers as well as color sanding and polishing the body. The resulting finish is shown in the photo gallery below, as is an invoice for the work. The seller describes evidence of a previous repair on the trunk lid.

Painted 15” wire wheels feature two-eared knock-off spinners and wear 185/70 Vredestein Sprint Classic tires that display date codes from 2015. New brake and clutch master cylinders were installed in 2015, along with new brake calipers and wheel cylinders. A softtop, side windows, and new window rubber gaskets are included in the sale, as is a replacement tonneau cover and mounting hardware.

Low-back bucket seats are trimmed in blue with white piping, and a replacement carpeting kit was installed during the recent refurbishment.

The banjo-style steering wheel wears an aftermarket cover. The seller notes that the Sanyo radio is not connected and the fuel gauge does not function properly. More than 93k miles are shown on the five-digit odometer, approximately 500 of which were added by the seller.

The 2,912cc inline-six is linked to a four-speed manual gearbox. Mechanical work performed in 2015 included cleaning and sealing the fuel tank, re-coring the radiator, and rebuilding the carburetors.

A new water pump and battery were installed at British Auto Repair in November 2018, at which time a tuneup and oil change also were completed. A compression test performed at this time yielded results between 160 and 175 psi across all six cylinders, with results viewable on the invoice above.
