This 1960 Austin-Healey 3000 Mk I is a LHD export model built on August 9-10, 1960 and originally finished in Ivory White with a black top and black upholstery. The seller has owned an Austin-Healey restoration company for nearly 40 years, and reportedly bought this car from its original owner in 1996 showing 58k miles. It now shows 68,419 miles and is powered by a factory 3.0L inline-six paired to a 4-speed manual gearbox with overdrive. Major work completed over the past 23 years has included a factory-correct repaint, a new soft top, redone brightwork and trim, new leather upholstery, new carpeting, brake work, and more. Servicing has been completed personally by the seller, and some records accompany the sale. This Austin-Healey is now offered with black California license plates, a BMI Heritage Trust certificate, and a clean California title in the seller’s name.

A full repaint in Ivory White was completed by the seller 13 years ago. In addition to the new finish, chrome trim and brightwork were redone, and the cockpit trim was re-anodized. The photo gallery below contains pictures of the exterior in a walk-around fashion.

Within the past decade, the seller has gone through the braking and fuel systems to ensure they are working correctly. This car retains 1960s-issue six-character California black license plates, along with factory knock-off wire wheels. A full-sized spare is contained in the trunk as shown in the gallery.

Further work done by the seller includes redone black leather upholstery with red piping and factory-correct NOS Carvell carpeting throughout. The cabin has been maintained in stock specification according to the seller, who has been maintaining and servicing Austin-Healeys since 1973.

When the seller bought this car from the original owner in 1996, the odometer showed approximately 58k miles. It now indicates 68,419 miles.

Under the hood is a correct 3.0L inline-six breathing through dual carburetors. Per the seller fluids, belts, hoses, and hydraulics have been replaced and/or serviced within in the past 12 months. The seller removed the OEM exhaust system 22 years ago, but has kept it on the shelf and is including it in the sale.

The BMI Heritage Trust certificate states that this car was built on August 9-10, 1960 finished in Ivory White with a black top and upholstery. Options included wire wheels, a heater, road speed tires, a laminated windscreen, MPH speedometer, and overdrive. The vehicle was dispatched to a dealer in Paris, and the original engine, chassis, and body numbers are also listed.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
