This 1962 Austin-Healey 3000 BT7 Mark II four-seat roadster is finished in silver over black leather upholstery and powered by a 2.9-liter inline-six linked to a side-shift four-speed manual transmission with overdrive. Equipment includes a removable black hardtop, triple SU carburetors, 15″ 48-spoke wire wheels, Lucas driving lights, a heater, and Smiths gauges. The car was acquired by the current owner in 2016 and previously listed on BaT in November 2021. Work since August 2022 consisted of replacing the floorboards, rebuilding the generator, and performing a valve adjustment. This 3000 BT7 is offered on dealer consignment in Oregon with repair and owner’s manuals, service records, accessories, and a Kansas title.
The car received bodywork and a repaint in silver during a refurbishment in 1999, and the body was refinished in 2021. The bumpers have been removed, and exterior details consist of Lucas driving lights, twin exhaust outlets, and Mark II trim. A removable black hardtop will accompany the car.
Factory 48-spoke 15″ wire wheels are refinished and mounted with Vredestein Sprint Classic tires. Braking is handled by Girling front discs and drums out back.
The black leather upholstery was previously overhauled by Healey Surgeons in Takoma Park, Maryland, with replacement seat covers accented by white piping. Amenities include a heater, a padded center armrest, a dash-mounted rearview mirror, and lap belts. The driver’s seat shows cracked piping and a torn seam.
A banjo-style steering wheel frames Smiths instrumentation that consists of a 120-mph speedometer, a 6k-rpm tachometer, and auxiliary gauges. A trafficator switch is mounted on the steering wheel hub, while the electrically actuated overdrive can be engaged in third or fourth gears using a toggle switch on the instrument panel. Just over 1,300 miles are shown on the odometer, and the true mileage is unknown.
The 2.9-liter C-series inline-six is equipped with triple SU carburetors, and maximum output was quoted at 138 horsepower with 167 lb-ft of torque. Service carried out since November 2022 included rebuilding the generator and adjusting the valves.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a side-shift four-speed manual transmission and an overdrive unit. The left and right floor panels were replaced in August 2022.
A black vinyl tonneau cover is included in the sale, along with owner’s and repair manuals, service records, and refurbishment photos.
A replacement identification tag is affixed to the firewall.
The Kansas title is branded “Antique.”
