Car offered at:
pendine.com/portfolio/1955-austin-healey-100-4/

Seller's description:
1955 Austin Healey 100/4 possibly the most original BN1 in existence.

Thought to be the Sydney Motor Show car, it was supplied new to Australia (with Optional Equipment noting no heater!). The first owner was Les Shaw of Bathhurst, who was a local Bathurst taxi driver, and traded a Vangard in as part exchange.

Ownership since Shaw is all known, with various owners often being active Club members, attended numerous Club events between 1972 and 1992. The current mileage showing on the speedo is less than 65,000 and is believed to be correct, with historical mileage records from over the years supporting this.

Paperwork includes the original Free Service Certificate and workshop manuals, as well as photographs of the car when reunited with Les Shaw in 1989 and detailed records of the Club events it attended over the years. There are original handbooks, an unused tool-kit still in its canvas bag, tonneau cover, side curtains, original copper hammer and showroom brochure.

It retains its original trim, original paint and the feel of a car that was put together by the factory, not a restorer, and drives like no other 100/4 we have come across. Recent extensive service work by Classic Performance Engineering has ensured that this unique Austin-Healey is on the button and ready to go.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
