This 1954 Austin-Healey 100 BN1 roadster was purchased by the seller in 2018 with a 302ci ford V8 and T-5 five-speed transmission already installed, after which the frame was straightened and reinforced, the body was repainted in maroon, and the interior received black leather and vinyl upholstery. The project was completed in 2025 and further included the installation of a Fatman Fabrications Mustang II-type front end with rack-and-pinion steering as well as four-wheel disc brakes, Vision 15″ wheels, a Ford 8.8″ rear end, a limited-slip differential, fender flares, an adjustable windscreen, and a custom rear bumper. The cockpit was outfitted with a MOMO Race steering wheel, a Tilton pedal assembly, and Speedhut Revolution gauges. This modified BN1 was listed on BaT in July 2025 and is now offered again with spare parts, manuals, and a clean California title in the seller’s name.
The body was refinished in Opalescent Maroon following the addition of fender flares and front-fender vents, and the frame was straightened and reinforced at that time. Exterior details include an adjustable-rake windshield, windshield-stanchion-mounted side mirrors, external trunk hinges, a custom rear bumper, and exhaust outlets that exit through the rear valance. The convertible top frame has been removed, and no top is fitted.
Vision 15″ Soft 8 steel wheels are finished in gloss black with maroon stripes and mounted with 195/60 BFGoodrich Advantage T/A Sport front and 27×10.5″ Hoosier Pro Street rear tires. A Fatman Fabrications Mustang II-style independent suspension kit with control arms, coilovers, and manual rack-and-pinion steering has been fitted up front, and unassisted disc brakes are employed at all four corners. The pinion parking brake has a dedicated master cylinder.
The fixed bucket seats are upholstered in black leather and accompanied by a color-coordinated shifter boot, vinyl door panels, and carpeting. Interior appointments include aluminum surround moldings, a hinged passenger seatback, a dash-mounted rearview mirror, a passenger grab handle, lap belts, door-panel storage pockets, and a Tilton overhung-mount aluminum pedal assembly with 75 Series master cylinders.
A leather-wrapped MOMO Race steering wheel mounted on a Longacre quick-disconnect hub fronts Speedhut Revolution instrumentation consisting of a 120-mph GPS speedometer and a programmable 6k-rpm tachometer with integrated shift lights as well as oil-pressure, coolant-temperature, and fuel-level gauges. The digital odometer indicates 18 miles, which is said to represent the mileage since completion of the build. The dimmer for the gauge lights, which are at full brightness, is inoperative.
A replacement fuel tank that was treated with a sealer and plumbed with E85-compatible lines is accessed through the trunk, and an Optima battery is concealed behind the forward panel.
The 302ci Ford V8 is said to feature a 1969 high-nickel block that was bored .060″ over and fitted with 1987 E7TE-PA high-nickel cylinder heads in addition to a COMP Cams Xtreme Energy camshaft and lifter kit. It breathes through a Holley four-barrel carburetor with an oval open-element air cleaner, and headers flow into a dual exhaust system with heat-shielded Magnaflow mufflers and over-the-axle tailpipes. Additional equipment includes a custom Jim Babb brass radiator, an MSD electronic ignition system, a Powermaster starter, and a Painless Performance wiring harness. A standard-pressure oil pump was installed in preparation for the sale, and the oil pan was resealed.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a Borg-Warner “world class” T-5 five-speed manual transmission and a Ford 8.8″ rear axle with a limited-slip differential and a 3.08:1 final gear ratio.
The car is currently registered as Planned Non–Operation in the state of California.

The stated chassis number is not correct. The actual chassis number would be located on the lower right hand chassis rail under the distributor area. Additionally, it was on a small plastic plaque located on the LH kick panel. The number stated and shown is the engine number, if correct, and not installed in the car.. The bulkhead mounted plaque is not correct for this vehicle.
