This example is in excellent condition, show ready, turnkey. Concours level restoration completed approx. 10 years ago. All metal, no bondo. No collision damage. Matching numbers car. Smooth shifting original 3 speed manual with working overdrive. Original 2.6 litre four cylinder, runs like new. All electrics and gauges work. No suspension issues, car runs straight and true.
This car has won multiple first place awards at shows. It is an excellent example of a full rotisserie restoration that has been well taken care of. It was properly restored and properly serviced after the restoration.
Underside done in original body color - you can eat off of it. No spray on tar or rattle can black paint covering anything.
Top and side curtains in like new condition, I have newer used them. Tonneau cover in excellent shape. I usually only take car out on nice days and use the tonneau to cover the interior if needed.
History I know of car is that it started its life in the SW US and was purchased and brought up north by the previous owner in 1990. I have a folder an inch and a half thick full of records and receipts from 1990 onward. Original workshop manuals go with car as well. Since I have owned the car it has spent time in PA and also out in AZ with me as my snowbird show car. I have put maybe 500 to 700 miles on the car since I have owned it. Work that I completed on car when I acquired it was basic tune up, carb cleaning, rebuilding, and adjustments, new electronic ignition, etc.. , all the basics to make it roadworthy after it was sitting for awhile. Some parts that were necessary when the car was out in AZ with me were an aluminum radiator and a larger cooling fan. It does get a bit warmer out there. All original parts were kept and in working order. The original starter was slowly dying, so a new reduced gear starter was installed. Original starter was kept if one wants to rebuild it. All of these changes are easily reversible to get back to 100% concours originality, and can be installed by any average mechanic in a days work. Clutch was replaced in 2022. Brakes recently inspected and serviced, and oil and fluids were changed in prep for sale. Yes, it does drip a very small spot or two of oil, nothing major, just normal for an old British car.
The car is the real deal. This car is not a $40k car with rust bubbles and a weak frame. It is not a quick spray restoration with just the body painted and the underside not touched at all or coated in undercoat or spray can black paint to either hide something or give a cheap completed look.
This car was a true stock no expense spared restoration when it was completed, not one of the many 'M' clones out there. As it sits, it is eligible for many historic events and shows. These cars due to their rarity, especially in this condition, are a rather sound investment.
Reason for selling? I have owned the car for five years, and it is time for something else to rotate into my collection. Title is clean and clear.
