This 1955 Austin-Healey 100 roadster was purchased new by an engineer at Pacific States Steel in Fremont, California, who began modifying it for show and quarter-mile drag racing in 1958 according to the selling dealer. The car is said to have remained with its original owner until 1970 and spent 34 years in Alameda, California with its third before being acquired from its fourth owner in Alberta six months ago. Power is from a 327ci V8 paired with a four-speed Muncie M21 manual gearbox and a 12-bolt Chevrolet rear end. Other equipment includes double-hump cylinder heads, a Holley carburetor, a Tilton dual-circuit brake master cylinder, American Racing International Dragmaster wheels, an engine-turned dashboard, a Nardi steering wheel, and more. This BN1 is offered in Canada with a black California license plate and Quebec registration.
The car is finished in black paint over steel panels and aftermarket fender flares according to the selling dealer, with the condition of the paintwork shown. Features include an adjustable-rake windscreen, chrome bumpers, and a black tonneau cover.
Black 15″ American Racing International Dragmaster wheels are mounted with 225/60 BFGoodrich Radial T/A tires. The front brakes have been replaced with later-model Girling discs, and a Tilton dual-circuit brake master cylinder is reportedly fitted.
The modified cabin features vinyl-upholstered bucket seats, black loop carpeting, a Hurst shifter, a wood-rimmed Nardi Torino steering wheel, and more.
An engine-turned dashboard houses six Stewart Warner gauges and a five-digit odometer showing approximately 2k miles, with total mileage unknown.
The 327ci V8 is said to have been balanced and blueprinted, and reportedly features a lightened crankshaft and connecting rods as well as double-hump cylinder heads. Induction is via a Holley 6619 carburetor on an Edelbrock Torker RPM manifold, while exhaust is through ceramic-coated lake headers and custom side-exit piping.
Shifting is through a four-speed Muncie M21 manual gearbox routing power to a Chevrolet 12-bolt rear end with 33-spline axles. Other alterations are said to include Traction Master bars and more.

This 1955 Austin-Healey 100 BN1 roadster was modified during previous ownership and acquired by the seller on BaT in October 2019. It is finished in black over tan upholstery and is powered by a 327ci V8 mated to a four-speed manual transmission and a Chevrolet 10-bolt rear end. Additional equipment includes double-hump cylinder heads, a Holley carburetor, 15” Ridler wheels, front and rear quick-jack bumperettes, a Hurst shifter, and a Nardi steering wheel. Work during current ownership has included reupholstering the interior, replacing the alternator, and repainting the hood. This BN1 roadster is now offered with service records and New York registration in the seller’s name.
The car is finished in black with aftermarket fender flares and a hood scoop. The hood was repainted matte black during current ownership, reportedly due to cracks around the scoop. Additional details include front and rear quick-jack bumperettes, a driver-side mirror, a Monza-style fuel filler cap, and side-exit exhaust. A black tonneau cover is included in the sale.
Polished 15” Ridler wheels are mounted with 225/60 BFGoodrich Radial tires that were installed during current ownership. Stopping power is provided by later-model Girling front disc brakes and rear drums with a Tilton dual-circuit brake master cylinder. Traction-Master bars have been installed.
The interior was refreshed with tan-upholstered bucket seats with black suede accents, along with a matching transmission tunnel and door panels. Appointments include lap belts, a Hurst shifter, and a wood-rimmed Nardi Torino steering wheel. Sound deadening was added to the door panels and floorboards.
Instrumentation housed in the engine-turned dash consists of a 10k-rpm tachometer, a Stewart Warner 160-mph speedometer, and auxiliary gauges. The five-digit odometer shows 2k miles, around 100 of which were added by the seller. Total mileage is unknown.
