From the original austinhealey.com web site. Owner Luke Sacher:
"Recent mountain out of a molehill-
The incredible weather here in the Northeast has had all British Loyalists around here getting down on their knees and thanking the deity of their choice for the blessing of motoring top down in December! In my case, I lowered the windscreen, put on my flight jacket, and headed out into the wild blue whatever it is.
A quarter mile from my front door, disaster struck. For the first time since my head blew through the top of the rear cylinder last year. Too many resurfacings over the years. But can you expect any more from a forty-five year old Westlake head? Much less a small block Chevy...
After gently tapping on my fuel lines near the banjo bolts (new original H4 SU's from Moss- isn't it great to drop a grand in ten seconds over the phone?), the beast roared to life, and I made a B-line for the garage.
Convinced that I had a serious problem with ignition or fuel, I proceeded to take out the distributor, inspect, clean, and fit new points & condenser (the ones in there had only 300 miles on them- I change my points every 1500 miles). Hildy (my car's name- after Rosalind Russell's character in His Girl Friday) started up on a quarter turn.
Since she was idling so well, and advancing properly when I opened and closed the linkage, our intrepid raconteur set out once again.
And she stalled out again--on a rising curve. Almost got broadsided by a logging truck...
Wanna know what made my girl so irritable? I OVERFILLED HER! TOO MUCH GAS! In all the years we've been together, all those trips to Quebec, I've never done such a thing, and believe me, I will never do it again."

This Austin-Healey 100 BN1 roadster was built between 2010 and 2015 using alloy 100S-style bodywork from Cape International in England. Its 2,660cc inline-four is equipped with an aluminum cylinder head, twin sidedraft Weber carburetors, and tubular headers, and a three-speed manual transmission and overdrive unit were installed following the car’s August 2022 BaT auction. Additional equipment includes an Austin-Healey 3000 rear differential, an aluminum radiator and fuel tank, a fold-down windshield, a wood-rim steering wheel, four-wheel disc brakes, painted wire wheels, and Lucas driving lights. Service in May 2022 has included tuning the carburetors and replacing the ignition coil, wires, and spark plugs. Acquired by the selling dealer in August 2022, this Austin-Healey is now offered in New York with a British Motor Industry Heritage Trust certificate, a tool roll, records, photos, and a clean Florida title.
Originally delivered in France, the car eventually made its way to the US where it was acquired by the previous owner as a project in 2010. It was then built in the style of a 100S using an alloy body from Cape International in Redditch, England. The car was painted in Old English White and Lobelia Blue by AJ’s Artworks of West Columbia, South Carolina, and exterior details include a fold-down windshield, a 100S-style grille, a Monza-style fuel filler, Lucas driving lamps, and a louvered hood with a leather tie-down strap. The car does not have a top.
Painted 15″ wire wheels are secured with two-eared knock-off nuts and wear 5-inch-wide Dunlop Racing tires. Braking is handled by four-wheel discs.
Bucket seats with ventilated backs are wrapped in dark blue upholstery with white piping. Appointments include a passenger-side grab handle, a dashboard-mounted mirror, storage compartments in the doors, and latch-and-link seat belts. The battery, spare tire, and an electrics cutoff switch are located behind the driver’s seat.
A wood-rimmed steering wheel fronts replacement Smiths instrumentation consisting of a 140-mph speedometer, a tachometer with a 5,400-rpm redline, and gauges for coolant temperature, oil pressure, oil temperature, and fuel level. The five-digit odometer shows approximately 1,700 miles.
The 2,660cc inline-four was reportedly built to 100s specifications, and the work was done by Savannah Race Engineering. Equipment includes an aluminum cylinder head, twin Weber sidedraft carburetors, an aluminum radiator, a side-exit exhaust system with a Magnaflow muffler, and an aluminum fuel tank. Service in May 2022 reportedly included tuning the carburetors and replacing the ignition coil, wires, and spark plugs.
A rebuilt three-speed manual transmission and an overdrive unit were installed following the selling dealer’s acquisition in 2022. The car is also equipped with an Austin-Healey 3000 rear differential.
