Sold by Fantasy Junction. 1955 Austin-Healey 100-M Le Mans s/n BN2L228075, Engine No. 1B207130 Red with Black Accents and Black Interior with Red Piping Comprehensively restored by well-known Healey specialists Fourintune Garage, this car remains in excellent condition. The restoration, which was completed during 1990-1991, included all major systems and the car has seen little use since. It was at this point that the car was converted to Le Mans spec. In 2005 the top end of the engine was rebuilt and the pistons replaced with +.20 items. All work was done to very high standards and the car is extremely correct, including the various details associated with the `Le Mans` specification. Among these are the enlarged SU carburetors, cold air box with accompanying components, sport coil and vented bonnet with leather straps. Prior to the restoration, the car was found in Northern California in rough condition, which necessitated the full frame-off restoration. The car is well-documented since the restoration and comes with receipts for maintenance, documentation associated with the restoration, a photo album, and various other documents including BMI Heritage Trust Certificate. An examination of the car reveals that it is in great shape. The paintwork and chrome are very nice and have held up well. Both are free from checking and significant wear and the paint shows no discoloration or surface imperfections. The rubber is also very nice and shows no drying, cracking or discoloration. The wire wheels are correct and are chromed, which was a factory option. The interior is also extremely nice, including the leather seats. The complex patterns and details on the seats were all faithfully and correctly reproduced when the seats were reupholstered, indicating that the work was done by someone who was very familiar with the methods originally employed. The carpets and dash are also in excellent condition, with the gauges showing some patina. They appear to be original and cosmetically unrestored but remain presentable and add to the originality of the car. The vinyl top is correct and in good shape. The trunk is also correct and includes tools and jack. On the whole, this is a very appealing example of a rare and desirable Healey. All of the rare bits and pieces are there and this example is in especially nice condition. It is also event proven, having been used in the California Mille this past April.
