This 1955 Austin-Healey 100 roadster was refurbished under previous ownership with work involving a repaint in ivory and an interior re-trim in black upholstery along with a rebuild of the 2.7-liter inline-four and installation of a four-speed manual transmission with overdrive. The car features an adjustable reclining windshield and a removable black soft top along with a side-exit exhaust system, drum brakes, and 15″ SCP alloy wheels. The engine is noted to be equipped with high-compression pistons as well as a Le Mans Kit performance camshaft and SU H6 carburetors. Service following the selling dealer’s 2025 acquisition is said to have included bleeding the brakes, cleaning the carburetors, and adjusting the timing. This 100 roadster is now offered with a British Motor Industry Heritage Trust certificate, a car cover, a tonneau cover, and spare and removed parts along with a Pennsylvania title.
The car was repainted in its current ivory finish under previous ownership. It wears an adjustable reclining windshield as well as chrome bumpers with overriders, and twin exhaust outlets exit ahead of the left-rear wheel. The selling dealer notes blemishes and rust around the body and recommends replacing the black soft top.
Minilite-style 15″ SCP alloy wheels are mounted with 175/70 Vredestein Sprint Classic tires, and braking is handled by drums at each corner. The brake hydraulics were reportedly overhauled within the last five years, and the fluid was bled in preparation for the sale.
The selling dealer tells us that the bucket seats were re-trimmed in black leather with white piping under previous ownership in 2000. A lap belt is equipped for the driver, and the selling dealer notes rust behind the passenger’s seat.
A banjo-style steering wheel is paired with a floor-mounted shifter with a wooden knob. Smiths instrumentation consists of a 120-mph speedometer, a 6k-rpm tachometer, and auxiliary gauges. The five-digit odometer shows 12k miles. Approximately 50 miles are said to have been added by the selling dealer, who notes that total mileage is unknown.
The car is powered by a 2.7-liter inline-four that was fitted with high-compression pistons as well as a Le Mans Kit performance camshaft and SU H6 carburetors as part of a rebuild completed under previous ownership within the last 10 years, according to the selling dealer. An oil change was performed, the carburetors were cleaned, and the timing was adjusted in preparation for the sale. The selling dealer notes compression test readings of 155, 145, 145, and 145 psi.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission with electrically actuated overdrive that is said to have been sourced from a later model car. The side-exit exhaust system is comprised of an aftermarket header flowing into a stainless-steel muffler. Rust through is visible on the underbody.
The removed transmission is included in the sale along with a collection of various engine parts and other components. A car cover and tonneau cover will also accompany the car.
The car is titled to the engine number—1B229031M— and the Pennsylvania title carries an Antique Vehicle brand.
