1956 Austin Healy BN2 100. This car was built on March 2, 1956. This car was shipped to a dealer in Canada.
Purchased in Canada several years ago, it was shipped to the US.
The car #'s are: Car/Chassis Number: BN 2L 231156 and Body # 5758 12333.
The British Motor Industry Heritage Trust has certified this car as a genuine factory built 100 M "Le Mans". That being said, at some point in this car's history it was restored.
The body numbers are all matching, but the engine no longer has an attached number plate. The car has a three-speed BN1 transmission. The carburetor numbers do not match the engine number.
This car drives beautifully and runs strong. The paint has a few minor "pin head" chips and scratches. All gauges (except the odometer) are in working order. The overdrive is in working order. It will leave a few drip stains when parked. I have had a mechanic verify that there are no leaks requiring fixing.
It is located in Northern NJ out side of NYC.

Listed in the 100M Le Mans registry
1 of 640 factory-built 100M Roadsters
Ground-up restoration by noted a Healey specialist

Dual 1 3/4 inch H6 S.U. carburetors and special intake manifolds with cold air box and air tube
High compression pistons and high-lift camshaft
One of only 640 factory-built 100M Roadsters produced, this 1956 Austin-Healey has been treated to a ground-up restoration by a noted marque specialist. The 100M was a highly coveted performance modification package fitted to the Austin-Healeys that competed at the 1953 Le Mans 24-hour endurance race. The 100M engine specification included the installation of larger twin H6 SU dual carburetors, a cold air induction box mounted to the side-draft carburetors, a higher lift and higher duration camshaft, and an increased compression ratio, which increased the stock output of 90 HP to 110 HP. This 1956 Austin-Healey is documented with an official British Motor Industry Heritage Trust Certified Copy of a Factory Record validating that this is indeed a factory built Austin-Healey 100M. This is further corroborated by its inclusion in the Austin-Healy 100M Le Mans Registry.
It is restored to a high standard in the original colors of Healey Blue and Old English White with a contrasting blue interior with white piping. The exterior is further enhanced with a set of wire wheels, a leather hood strap for the louvered hood, a 100M badge on the grille and a laminated, lay-back reclining windshield with wind wings.
