From the original austinhealey.com web site. Owner Alastair Gillespie:
"I have just purchased this car which I believe is a 100 M. Presently a non-runner. Over the next three years I intend to bring up to level 2, and eventually concours."

This 1956 Austin-Healey BN2 Roadster is one of 640 100M examples produced over a 10-month span and was completed on May 10, 1956. It was originally dispatched to Toronto, Canada and acquired around 17 years ago by the seller, who commissioned a subsequent refurbishment by Lynn Martin of Forever Healeys in Post Falls, Idaho. The car received a bronze award during a July 2008 Concours d’Elegance in San Diego, California, where the car was judged by marque specialists Roger Moment and Reid Trummel and the underside of the trunk lid was signed by the vehicle’s designer, Gerry Coker. Bodywork is finished in white and black, and power is supplied by a numbers-matching 2,660cc inline-four paired with a four-speed manual transmission with overdrive. Additional equipment includes a louvered hood with a leather tie-down strap, front driving lamps, an adjustable-rake windshield, tonneau cover, removable side curtains, black leather upholstery, and silver-painted knock-off wire wheels. Work in March 2022 reportedly consisted of replacing the brake shoes and fuel level sending unit. This 100M is being offered with two British Motor Industry Heritage Trust certificates, a 100M Le Mans Registry certificate of membership, a tool kit, spare parts, and a clean California title in the seller’s name.
Finished from the factory in Old English White with black trim and previously painted red, the car was repainted its current two-tone white and black following the seller’s acquisition by Forever Healeys of Post Falls, Idaho. Bodywork and rust repairs were performed at that time, and photos from the work are viewable here. Equipment includes a black soft top with removable side curtains, a black tonneau cover, a louvered hood with a leather tie-down strap, front driving lamps, adjustable-rake windshield, and fender-mounted side mirrors. The underside of the trunk lid has been signed by the car’s designer, Gerry Coker.
Silver-painted wire wheels are secured by two-eared knock-off spinners and mounted with Widetrack Radial tires. A full-size spare is housed in the trunk. Braking is through drums at all four corners, and the car features an independent front suspension. The brake shoes are said to have been replaced in March 2022 by Thompson British Car of Northridge, California.
The cabin houses bucket seats trimmed in black leather along with matching door panels and carpets. Equipment includes a padded central armrest, a dash-mounted rear-view mirror, and lap belts for both occupants. A loose ignition barrel is said to have been repaired in March 2022.
A three-spoke steering wheel sits ahead of a body-color metal dashboard housing Smiths instrumentation that includes a 120-mph speedometer, a 6k-rpm tachometer, and auxiliary gauges. The five-digit odometer shows 61k miles, around 1,500 of which have been added by the seller over the last 17 years. Total mileage is unknown.
The engine bay is finished in black and houses a 2,660cc inline-four that features twin SU carburetors and was overhauled during the refurbishment approximately 1,500 miles ago. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission with overdrive. The fuel level sending unit was reportedly replaced in March 2022.
Engine block tag 1B232320M matches the number listed on the BMIHT certificate.
Additional underbody photos are provided in the gallery below, along with a handful of images taken during the refurbishment.
The BMIHT certificate confirms the vehicle as a factory-built 100M and lists the factory colors, options, and identification numbers. An older BMIHT certificate can be seen in the gallery, along with a photo of the 100M Le Mans Registry certificate and judging sheets from the 2008 Concours d’Elegance.
Chassis number BN2L232320, and the VIN listed on the title adds an “M” to the end of the sequence.

Lot #150304
This 1956 Austin-Healey BN2 Roadster is one of 640 100M examples produced over a 10-month span and was completed on May 10, 1956. Originally dispatched to Toronto, Canada, the car was refurbished in the early 2000s by Lynn Martin of Forever Healeys in Post Falls, Idaho, and it was acquired by the current owner on BaT in August 2022. Subsequent maintenance reportedly included re-lining the front brake shoes along with replacing the fuel sending unit, 15″ wire wheels, tires, and rear hubs. The bodywork is finished in white and black, and power is supplied by a 2,660cc inline-four paired with a four-speed manual transmission with overdrive. Additional equipment consists of a louvered hood with a leather tie-down strap, front driving lights, an adjustable-rake windshield, a tonneau cover, removable side curtains, and black leather upholstery. This 100M is now offered on dealer consignment with a tool kit, spare parts, and a Washington state title in the owner’s name.
Finished from the factory in Old English White, the car was previously painted red, and it was repainted the current two-tone white and black during the aforementioned refurbishment. Bodywork and rust repairs were performed at that time, and photos from the work are viewable here. Equipment includes a louvered hood with a leather tie-down strap as well as front driving lights, an adjustable-rake windshield, a black soft top with removable side curtains, a black tonneau cover, and fender-mounted side mirrors. The underside of the trunk lid has been signed by the car’s designer, Gerry Coker.
Replacement silver-finished 15″ wire wheels were installed under current ownership, and they are mounted with 165-series Pirelli Cinturato tires. The car features an independent front suspension, and the selling dealer reports that brake repairs were completed following the owner’s acquisition. The front brake shoes were re-lined and arced in 2023, and the right-rear brake adjuster was repaired and the rear hub extensions were replaced at that time.
The cabin houses bucket seats trimmed in black leather along with matching door panels and carpets. Equipment includes a padded central armrest, a dashboard-mounted rear-view mirror, and lap belts for both occupants.
The five-digit odometer shows 61k miles. Total mileage is unknown.
The 2,660cc inline-four features twin SU HD6 carburetors, and it was overhauled during the refurbishment approximately 1,500 miles ago. The engine bay was painted in black at that time. A six-blade cooling fan has been installed in the place of the stock four-blade unit. The fuel-level sending unit was replaced in January 2023, and the oil was changed at that time.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission with overdrive. Additional underbody photos are provided in the gallery below.
A set of removable side curtains, a tonneau cover, spare parts, and service records from 2023 are included in the sale. BMIHT certificates from 1998 and 2003 are shown in the gallery below, and they confirm the vehicle as a factory-built 100M. A photo of the car’s 100M Le Mans Registry certificate is included.
Chassis number BN2L232320, and the VIN listed on the title adds an “M” to the end of the sequence.
The current Washington title lists an “Antique” brand.
