This 1956 Austin-Healey 100 BN2 roadster was built in June 1956 and dispatched to Los Angeles, California, and the car is said to have been refurbished in Maine in the early 2010s before being acquired by the current owner in 2016. Powered by a 2.7-liter inline-four paired with a four-speed manual transmission with overdrive, the car is finished in red and black with a black soft top over black leather upholstery with red piping. Equipment includes dual SU carburetors, a louvered hood, 15″ knock-off wire wheels, three-point seatbelts, a tonneau cover, and removable side curtains. This Healey is now offered by the seller on behalf of the owner with a British Motor Industry Heritage Trust certificate, owner’s and repair manuals, service records from current ownership, and a Maryland title in the owner’s name.
The car was finished from the factory in two-tone Reno Red and Black, and it was repainted to match under prior ownership. A Le Mans–style louvered hood is secured with a leather strap. The black soft top is complemented by removable side curtains and a tonneau cover, as pictured in the gallery below. Additional details include an adjustable windshield, a driver-side mirror, chrome bumpers, and a single exhaust outlet. Driving lights mounted on a bar on the front bumper are not connected electrically. The driver side of the soft top is torn, which is shown in the photo gallery along with a paint crack on the trunk lid.
Silver-finished 15″ knock-off wire wheels are wrapped with 165HR15 Vredestein Sprint Classic tires that were installed in 2016. Braking is handled by drums at each corner. The steering column, the steering box, and the turn-signal switch were replaced in 2017.
The bucket seats are trimmed in black leather with red piping. A passenger grab handle and door-panel pockets are fitted along with a heater, a DC power outlet, and a dash-mounted rearview mirror. Three-point shoulder-harness seatbelts were installed in 2018.
The banjo-style steering wheel frames Smiths instrumentation consisting of a 120-mph speedometer, a 6k-rpm tachometer, and auxiliary gauges. The five-digit odometer shows 20k miles, approximately 5k of which were added under current ownership.
The 2.7-liter inline-four is equipped with dual SU carburetors. The fan, radiator hoses, and radiator cap were replaced in 2018. The car was serviced most recently in 2023.
Power is directed to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission with overdrive.
The British Motor Industry Heritage Trust certificate lists a production date of June 12, 1956, delivery to a dealer in Los Angeles, plus identification numbers, equipment, and colors.
The black identification tag is a reproduction item.
The Maryland title bears a Not Actual Mileage odometer brand.
