This 1956 Austin-Healey 100 BN2 roadster was completed on June 20, 1956, and was delivered new to the US. It was refurbished in the 1980s and spent time in Kentucky and Florida before being purchased by the selling dealer in 2024. The car is finished in burgundy and black over black leather upholstery, and power comes from a replacement 2,660cc inline-four paired with a four-speed manual transmission with overdrive. Equipment includes twin SU carburetors, an electric cooling fan, 15″ chrome wire wheels, an aluminum louvered bonnet, an adjustable-rake windshield, a black soft top, a heater, and a Moto-Lita wood-rimmed steering wheel. Service performed in preparation for the sale included the installation of a replacement stainless steel exhaust system, wheel cylinders, front sway bar bushings, and tires as well as an oil change. This BN2 is now offered with a BMIHT certificate, side curtains, a tonneau cover, refurbishment photos and records, and a clean Pennsylvania title.
Delivered from the factory in two-tone Old English White and black, the car was stripped and bodywork was performed before it was refinished in the 1980s. The body was repainted in its current burgundy and black in 2006, and the right-rear quarter panel was repaired and refinished in 2010. Equipment includes bright bumpers and trim, a driver-side mirror, an adjustable-rake windshield, and a black soft top. A 100M-style aluminum louvered bonnet and a leather tie-down strap were installed in 2019. Paint bubbles and other imperfections in the finish can be seen along with an included tonneau cover and side curtains.
Chrome wire wheels feature two-eared knock-off hubs and were mounted with 165HR15 Vredestein Sprint Classic tires that were installed by the selling dealer. Replacement front sway bar bushings and wheel cylinders were also installed, and stopping power is provided by four-wheel drum brakes.
The cabin is trimmed in black leather along with color-coordinated door panels and carpets. Equipment includes a heater, a passenger grab handle, a dashboard-mounted rearview mirror, and lap belts.
The Moto-Lita wood-rimmed steering wheel fronts Smiths instrumentation including a 120-mph speedometer, a 6k-rpm tachometer, a fuel-level gauge, and a combination oil-pressure and water-temperature gauge. An aftermarket water-temperature gauge is mounted below the dash. The five-digit odometer shows under 67k miles, approximately 50 of which were added by the selling dealer. Total mileage is unknown.
The replacement 2,660cc inline-four was installed under previous ownership, and it features twin SU carburetors as well as a chrome valve cover. An electric cooling fan was added under previous ownership. A replacement battery was installed in preparation for the sale, and an oil change was also performed.
Power is sent to the rear wheels via a four-speed manual transmission equipped with a Laycock de Normanville overdrive unit. The transmission was overhauled under previous ownership in the 2020s, and a replacement stainless steel exhaust system was installed in preparation for the sale.
The British Motor Industry Heritage Trust certificate lists a build date of June 20, 1956, and delivery to the US as well as factory specifications.
