This 1957 Austin-Healey 100-6 BN4 roadster that underwent a repaint, an interior refresh, and installation of a 350ci Chevrolet V8 backed by a Muncie four-speed manual gearbox as part of a build completed from 2009 to 2015. It was acquired by the seller on BaT in July 2022 and subsequently fitted with Wilwood front disc brakes as well as a Holley EFI setup, a three-core radiator, an external oil cooler, and more as detailed below. Finished in red and silver, the car features fiberglass rear quarter panels and rides on 15″ knock-off wire wheels. Inside, 2+2 seating trimmed in red leather is accompanied by a wood-rimmed steering wheel paired with a Hurst shifter. This 100-6 is now offered with a red soft top and tonneau cover along with a British Motor Industry Heritage Trust certificate, partial records, spare parts, and a clean California title in the seller’s name.
The car left the factory finished in Ivory White. It was disassembled and fitted with fiberglass rear quarter panels before being repainted in its current red and silver paint scheme as part of the aforementioned refurbishment. Further details include body-color windshield posts, chrome fender welting, and dual side mirrors. Work under current ownership has involved replacing the headlamps as well as removing the rear bumper overriders. A removable red soft top and tonneau cover are included in the sale along with a set of side curtains with sliding windows.
The 15″ knock-off wire wheels were mounted with 165-width Vredestein tires in August 2022. Additional work under current ownership has involved retrofitting a Wilwood dual master cylinder and front disc brakes.
The cabin houses bucket seats that were re-trimmed in red vinyl with white piping under previous ownership. A Smiths heater resides under the dash, and further details include a dash-mounted mirror, a passenger-side grab handle, and door pockets.
The wood-rimmed steering wheel is paired with a Hurst shifter that sits behind a control unit for the Holley EFI setup as well as a custom pod housing a switch for the electric fuel pump and a 12-volt outlet. Smiths instrumentation consists of a 120-mph speedometer, a 6k-rpm tachometer, and auxiliary gauges. The five-digit odometer shows 2,500 miles, approximately 2,000 of which were added under current ownership. The seller states that the speedometer and fuel-level gauge are inaccurate and that true mileage is unknown.
The 350ci Chevrolet V8 was reportedly rebuilt by Dyson Racing of Poughkeepsie, New York, in 2009 before being installed. Work under current ownership has involved adding a Holley Sniper 2 electronic fuel injection (EFI) setup, a three-core radiator, and an external oil cooler along with replacing the fuel tank. The engine is further equipped with an Edelbrock air cleaner, intake manifold, and valve covers as well as wrapped headers flowing into a stainless-steel dual exhaust system. The oil and coolant were changed in July 2025.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a Muncie four-speed manual gearbox that was installed at the time of the engine change. The frame was also refinished in red as part of the refurbishment project. The fluids for the transmission and differential were changed in July 2025.
The British Motor Industry Heritage Trust certificate indicates a manufacture date in December 1956 and lists the factory engine number, colors, equipment, and dispatch destination.
A collection of tools and various spare parts will also accompany the car.
