Current Bid: $15,000 Ends In: 6 days

Seller's description:
This 1959 Austin-Healey 100-6 is a 2+2 BN4 roadster that was acquired by the current owner in 1992. Power is supplied by a 2.6-liter inline-six paired with a 4-speed manual transmission with overdrive, and the car was repainted under previous ownership. Mechanical refreshment performed in 2018 following an extended period of storage included a re-cored radiator and a tune-up as well as new tire tubes and fresh fluids. This BN4 is offered by the seller on behalf of a family friend with a fabric soft top, a fiberglass hardtop, a tonneau cover, a spare set of wheels, records from current ownership, and a clean Washington State title in the owner’s name.

The body was repainted in its current red under previous ownership according to the seller. Exterior equipment includes fog lamps, a rear luggage rack, and 15” wire knock-off wheels with 2-eared spinners. Intermittent lighting is noted on the passenger side of the vehicle.

Chrome knock-off wire wheels were recently balanced and fitted with new tubes. A spare set of wire wheels is included in the sale along with a tan soft top, fiberglass hardtop, and 50/50 tonneau cover. Red-painted brake drums were turned and the shoes were adjusted last year according to the seller.

The 2+2 interior is trimmed in tan upholstery with matching carpets. An older aftermarket cassette stereo has been added, and the door panels were modified to house speakers. A banjo-style steering wheel fronts a set of Smiths gauges. Approximately 12k miles are shown on the 5-digit odometer, with total mileage unknown.

The 2.6L inline-six is mated to a 4-speed manual gearbox with overdrive. A service in spring 2018 included tuning the dual SU carburetors and distributor as well as installing a re-cored radiator, new hoses and spark plugs, and fresh fluids. Approximately 50 miles have been added since the work was completed.

The seller describes fluid seepage from the transmission and rear axle along with corrosion on the chassis.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
