This 1959 Austin-Healey 100-6 BN4 roadster was fitted with a 283ci Chevrolet V8 and Powerglide two-speed automatic transmission by the former owner before being acquired by the seller in 1977. It is said to have been parked approximately 30 years ago and is now described as a non-running project requiring engine and body work before being driven. The car is finished in orange and features a dual exhaust system, front driving lights, and 15″ steel wheels. Inside, 2+2 seating trimmed in black vinyl is accompanied by Smiths and Stewart Warner gauges. This 100-6 project is offered at no reserve with a removable white fiberglass hardtop, a collection of spare parts, and a clean Colorado title in the seller’s name.
The car is finished in orange and accompanied by a removable white fiberglass hardtop. Driving lights have been added up front, and further details include a hood scoop as well as chrome bumpers with overriders. The seller notes that the windshield is cracked, one of the door handles is damaged, and the soft top has been removed. Rust is visible on the hood and quarter panels.
The 15″ steel wheels wear bright hubcaps and are mounted with older 165-width Michelin XZX tires. The car is further equipped with four-wheel drum brakes.
The 2+2 seats are trimmed in black vinyl with contrasting inserts, though the upholstery is separating in placed. The car retains a cowl-mounted mirror, a passenger-side grab handle, and door pockets. The seller notes rust on the floorboards as well as the trunk floor.
A cracked banjo-style steering wheel frames Smiths instrumentation consisting of a 120-mph speedometer, a 6k-rpm tachometer, and auxiliary readouts. A custom panel housing Stewart Warner auxiliary gauges has been added to the right. The seller states that they have added approximately 60k miles under their ownership, and the rolled five-digit odometer currently shows 36k miles. Total mileage is unknown.
The seller tells us that the 283ci Chevrolet V8 and Powerglide two-speed automatic transmission were installed by the former owner in 1976. The engine is equipped with a single downdraft carburetor as well as Mickey Thompson finned valve covers, though it does not run.
The installed dual exhaust system features outlets ahead of each rear wheel.
A previously installed differential is included in the sale along with a spare wheel and tire and sliding side windows.
