This 1959 Austin-Healey 100-6 BN6 roadster was repainted in white with dark blue sides and retrofitted with a Toyota-sourced five-speed manual transmission before being acquired by the current owner in 2023. A subsequent two-year mechanical refresh included rebuilding the dual SU carburetors, installing a Wizard Cooling aluminum radiator, overhauling the drum brakes, and more as detailed below. The car is powered by a 2.6-liter inline-six and rides on 15″ Dayton 72-spoke wire wheels. It is accompanied by a dark blue soft top and tonneau cover along with a white Smooth Line hardtop, while blue leather–trimmed bucket seats are joined by a Moto-Lita steering wheel and a Smiths heater inside the cabin. This 100-6 is now offered with a British Motor Industry Heritage Trust certificate, service records, spare and removed parts, and a clean California title in the seller’s name.
The car is finished in white with dark blue sides and is accompanied by a dark blue soft top and tonneau cover as well as a white Smooth Line removable hardtop. The removed front bumper is included in the sale along with a luggage rack and side curtains. A replacement windshield was installed in 2016, while work under current ownership has involved adding LED lights and resistors for the turn indicators and brake lights. The seller notes paint chips on the edges of the doors, cracking near the taillights, and imperfections on the right fender.
The bright-finished 15″ Dayton 72-spoke wire wheels are secured with two-ear knock-offs and mounted with 195/65 Pirelli P4 radial tires. Replacement hydraulic shocks and rear leaf springs were installed in 2015, and the shocks were later serviced in 2025. Additional work under current ownership has involved rebuilding the king pins and adding urethane suspension bushings in addition to replacing the brake master cylinder, brake shoes, wheel cylinders, wheel bearings, and front splines. A set of five white-finished 48-spoke wire wheels are included in the sale.
The bucket seats are trimmed in blue Leather with white piping, and color-coordinated trim accents the dash and doors. The seats were re-dyed and a chrome shift knob was added in 2017. Replacement premium carpets from AH Spares were custom cut to cover the modified transmission tunnel and are laid over Dynamat sound and heat insulation. Electrical upgrades include a seven-block fuse terminal, a firewall-mounted grounding bus bar, a USB charging port, a high-output horn, under-dash lighting, and LED instrument and dash lighting as well as a replacement flasher relay and steering column harness. A Smiths cabin heater, a passenger-side grab handle, and lap belts are further details.
The wood-rimmed Moto-Lita steering wheel was refinished under current ownership. It frames Smiths instrumentation consisting of a 120-mph speedometer, a 6k-rpm tachometer, and auxiliary gauges. The five-digit odometer shows 38k miles, approximately 2k of which were added under current ownership. The gauges were recalibrated under current ownership, and true mileage is unknown.
The car is powered by a 2.6-liter inline-six that was equipped from the factory with dual SU carburetors and rated at 117 horsepower when new. The oil pump was replaced in 2016, while the head was resurfaced and fitted with replacement valves along with stellite valve seats as part of a project completed in 2022 and 2023. Work in 2024 and 2025 involved the following:
Rebuilding the carburetors
Replacing the throttle linkage, rocker arm assemblies, and freeze plugs
Adding a Wizard Cooling aluminum radiator and a Texas Kooler fan
Retrofitting an electric fuel pump
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a Toyota Supra–sourced W58 five-speed manual transmission that was installed using a Smitty’s conversion kit under previous ownership. Work in 2025 has involved servicing the transmission and differential in addition to replacing the engine and transmission mounts along with the rear axle seals.
The British Motor Industry Heritage Trust Certificate lists the factory colors and specifications along with a build date of October 30, 1958.
