• RHD conversion by renowned specialist
• Fantastic collection of paperwork & invoices
• Low mileage example
Much like quite a few other Healeys, this 100-6 was produced as a North American export in April 1958 and spent many years in the Los Angeles sunshine. Throughout its time in the US, it is believed that the vehicle underwent considerable restoration between the late ‘90s and early ‘2000s.
The car returned to the UK in 2015, and would later be converted to right-hand drive in 2016. The conversion was carried out by renowned specialist Cape International, at considerable cost as noted in the paperwork. In addition to the conversion, the vehicle was fitted with a set of new wire wheels with Michelin XAS classic tyres in 2015 and treated to a full new set of carpets in 2018.
Throughout its time with the current keeper, the vehicle has been stored under shelter, only venturing out for a handful of journeys in dry weather. The car now awaits the next chapter of its life, where it will hopefully see a bit more use and will no doubt put a smile on the face of the lucky new owner.
This roadster also comes with a vast assortment of paperwork, which includes invoices for both the vehicle itself and the additional 2.9L fast road engine. The vehicle certainly hasn’t needed much mechanically over the recent years, but the paperwork includes key invoices for items like the right-hand-drive conversion and the vehicle’s subtle mechanical modifications. The additional fast road engine also has an exceptionally comprehensive collection of invoices, from specialists and parts suppliers.
The paperwork folder also includes a certificate of authenticity from the British Motor Industry Heritage Trust, along with the V5C document ready for the new owner. In addition to the above paperwork, the new owner will also receive an Austin service parts list, workshop manual, historical road atlas and even an original Austin Healey 100-6 owner’s handbook.
The Interior
• Superb condition
• Full new carpets in 2018
• Very well cared for
• Stunning colour combination
The interior of this mighty Healey is in fantastic condition and looks spectacular alongside the blue paintwork. Both seats are in excellent condition, with only the most minor sign of bolster wear, which certainly doesn’t detract from the driving experience in any way.
As this vehicle was treated to a new set of carpets in 2018 and has clearly been well-taken care of, the interior is a very clean and pleasant space to be in. Although the Healey has a rather minimalist interior, all controls, gauges and switches are in full working order and contrast well against the blue trim.
In the boot, you'll find a set of original tools, the spare wheel, a period jack and a new mohair tonneau cover. In addition to the tonneau cover, the vehicle also comes with a new set of side screens, which are yet to be used.
The Exterior
• Stunning blue paintwork
• A new set of wire wheels
• Near immaculate roof
• Great panel fitment and body lines
This blue Healey 100-6 is a real head-turner and looks absolutely fantastic in the sunlight. The paintwork is in excellent condition for its age, with a tasteful patina and no major noticeable marks or signs of damage. All chrome trim pieces, lights and details follow suit and look brilliant against the paintwork.
As mentioned above, the vehicle was treated to a new set of wire wheels back in 2015 after being imported back to the UK. All 4 wheels are still in fantastic condition and are wrapped in a matching set of Michelin XAS classic tyres, with plenty of tread left for the new owner to enjoy.
The roof is also in excellent condition, with no rips or tears. To complete the weather gear, the car also comes with side screens and a mohair tonneau cover, both of which are unused and are in perfect condition.
Finished in arguably the best colour for a Healey, this 100-6 is in excellent condition and has certainly been well looked after. Despite the paintwork being around 20 years old, the car still presents itself beautifully and will no doubt fill the new owner with pride.
The Mechanics
• Includes 2.9L fast road engine
• Drives perfectly and is in full working order
• Manual gearbox & overdrive
• Straight six engine
• Fitted with electronic ignition
Buyers will be pleased to know that the car fires right up, and drives beautifully. With no known mechanical or electrical faults, this Healey will no doubt continue to be enjoyable and dependable for years to come.
This vehicle benefits from the addition of electronic ignition and has been converted for use with an alternator. It has been fitted with a variable pitch radiator fan and an electric Kenlow fan for greater cooling. To let the peppy six-cylinder sing, the car is also fitted with a side-exit exhaust system, which sounds brilliant and also aids ground clearance.
As noted below, the vehicle also comes with a higher displacement fast road engine, should the new owner wish to swap that in for a bit more power and response.
