This 1958 Austin-Healey 100-6 BN6 was acquired by the late owner as a stalled project that had begun in the 1980s. The car was repainted under prior ownership, and the seller reports that the floors have been replaced. The seller recently began reassembling the car on behalf of the late owner, though the project halted again upon his passing. The car was stored without fluids, and the seller has since refilled the fluids, brought the engine to running condition, and performed a test drive. This Austin-Healey project is offered on behalf of the owner’s widow with a clean California title.
The car was repainted in blue and gray in the 1980s, and the seller notes that the quality of the finish is poor. The windshield is cracked, and the doors are visibly misaligned. A set of newer bumpers are fitted, and a second set of bumpers showing corrosion are also included. The seller has reinstalled some of the exterior trim.
The factory wire-spoked wheels are fitted with older whitewall tires, and the car is equipped with factory drum brakes front and rear.
The interior has been stripped and retains a set of factory seat frames, a silver dash, and a factory steering wheel and instrumentation. The seller reports that door panels and other interior trim are included. The odometer has been reset and currently shows zero miles.
The 2.6-liter inline-six is paired with a 4-speed manual transmission with overdrive and features a six-port cylinder head, an aluminum intake, and dual SU H6 carburetors. The seller reports that the car was stored without fluids, and he recently refilled the fluids and got the engine running before a brief test drive.
The underside has been refinished in blue, and per the seller the floors appear to have been replaced.
