This 1963 Austin-Healey 3000 BJ7 Mk II underwent a rotisserie refurbishment in 2017, which included a repaint in Ice Blue and Old English White, a reupholstered interior, and a refresh of the mechanicals and brakes. The car is powered by a 2.9-liter inline-six paired with a four-speed manual transmission with overdrive and additional equipment includes chrome 15″ wire wheels, a blue soft top, front disc brakes, fender-mounted mirrors, and dual SU carburetors. Acquired by the current owner in 2021, this 3000 is now offered on dealer consignment in Scottsdale, Arizona with a British Motor Industry Heritage Trust certificate, refurbishment records, spare parts, and a clean California title.
Finished from the factory in red, the body was repainted two-tone Ice Blue and Old English White during the aforementioned refurbishment, at which time the front fenders were repaired and the inner structure, rockers, sills, floor pans, trunk floor, outriggers, and rear crossmember were replaced. A replacement blue soft top, trim, mirrors, and badges were also installed.
Chrome 15″ wire wheels are secured with two-eared knockoffs and wear 165-series Vredestein Sprint Classic tires. Braking is handled by front discs with red-finished calipers and rear drums, and the master cylinder, pads, and wheel cylinders were replaced in 2017.
The seats were reupholstered in blue leather and replacement carpets and door panels were installed during the refurbishment. Lap belts are fitted for all occupants, and the car is equipped with a Smiths heater.
The banjo-style three-spoke steering wheel frames Smiths instrumentation consisting of a 120-mph speedometer, a tachometer, and auxiliary gauges for oil pressure, coolant temperature, and fuel level. The five-digit odometer shows 72k miles, approximately 1k of which were added under current ownership.
The 2.9-liter inline-six is equipped with dual SU carburetors with pancake air cleaners. Work in 2017 included replacing the water pump, thermostat, radiator hoses, fuel tank, and fuel level sending unit. The carburetors were rebuilt in 2019.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission with overdrive. The clutch hydraulic cylinders were also replaced in 2017.
The British Motor Industry Heritage Trust certificate lists the factory configuration and colors as well as serial numbers for the chassis.
