Accompanied with British Motor Industry Heritage Trust certificate, this lovely 1963 Austin-Healey 3000 MkII received a documented ground-up restoration by specialists Healey Lane of Riverside, California, where the car was painted in the original Colorado Red using 2-stage urethane paint in two applications for an outstanding finish. The rebuilt matching-numbers 2.9L/132 HP inline-6 features jet-coated exhaust manifolds and stainless steel exhaust. The cockpit was also restored, and features newer Black carpets, a leather covered dash with recalibrated original instruments and Ambla leather seat upholstery with Red piping. The Black top and boot, windshield and side glass and steering wheel were also replaced along with chromed wire wheels, spare tire and wire wheel, hammer, and jack. This Austin-Healey 3000 MkII still presents in outstanding, virtually as-new condition, with all the charms that have made the 3000 a perennial favorite with sports car enthusiasts for almost 60 years.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
