This 1963 Austin-Healey 3000 BJ7 Mk II was purchased by the current owner’s father in 1969 and was inherited by the current owner in 1995. Finished in blue with a dark blue soft top and interior, the car is powered by a 2.9-liter inline-six paired with a four-speed manual transmission. Equipment includes roll-up windows, electronic overdrive, dual SU carburetors, and wire wheels. A repaint was completed in 2016, and an oil change was more recently performed. This BJ7 is being offered by the selling dealer with service records and a clean Michigan title.
The exterior was reportedly repainted metallic blue in 2016, and the selling dealer notes that an area of corrosion on the driver’s side fender was repaired. Additional features include chrome bumpers and a dark blue soft top with a matching tonneau cover.
The 15” 72-spoke wire wheels with knock-off spinners are wrapped in Kumho Power Star 758 tires measuring 165/80. A matching spare and knock-off hammer are included in the trunk. The brake system utilizes front discs and rear drums.
The 2+2 interior is trimmed in blue with white piping and features matching high-pile carpets and roll-up windows. Wear is noted on the front seats.
A banjo-style steering wheel sits in front of Smith’s instrumentation, which consists of a 120-mph speedometer, 6k-rpm tachometer, fuel gauge, and a combined gauge for oil pressure and water temperature. The five-digit odometer shows just under 82k miles.
The 2.9-liter inline-six was factory-rated at 131 horsepower and features dual SU carburetors and an external oil filter. An oil change was performed by Community Automotive Repair of Grand Rapids, Michigan.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission with electronic overdrive. The seller notes corrosion on the chassis.
