The Austin-Healey 3000 is a British sports car built from 1959 to 1967. It is the best known of the ''big Healey'' models. The car's bodywork was made by Jensen Motors and the vehicles were assembled at BMC's MG Works in Abingdon, alongside the corporation's MG models. During its production life, the car transitioned from an open sports car, albeit with a child-transporting 2+2 option, to a sports convertible. In 1963, 91.5 per cent of all Austin-Healey 3000 cars were exported; mostly to North America.

The 3-litre 3000 was a highly successful car, which won its class in many European rallies in its heyday and is still raced in classic car competitions by enthusiasts today. British Leyland ended manufacture in 1967, intending its place to be filled by a car with a new, though similar, engine in a more recently designed monocoque MGB variant named MGC

This Exceptional Original Un Restored Car has had 3 Austin Healey Club owners from new and has covered just 65,000 miles. The current owner has had the car 15 years and has put about 7500 miles on it during his ownership. Regular maintenance has always been performed on the car along the way. and is well documented- the brake system was overhauled, the clutch slave cylinder rebuilt, and new belts and hoses installed in 2023. New Michelin tires and Dayton Wire Wheels were installed in 2017. The car was repainted and a new interior and top (with BJ8 Spec rear widnow) were installed in 2005, and the Crabs were rebuilt by Joe Curto under previous ownership. The work was performed by the highly respected Quality Automotive in Cincinnati. The car is just a joy to drive. it's an exciting ride really as any good well sorted Big Healey is. The current owner was the Chairman of the Cincinnati Concours, and the car was a regular participant in Concours events around the Midwest-always being driven there and back-including the Indianapolis 500 Celebration of Automobiles, The Dayton Concours, The Keenland Concours, the Louisville Concours and of course the Cincinnati Concours on numerous occasions.

Accompanied by Books Tools Manuals and Records, a British Motor Heritage Certificate, as well as lots of interesting spare bits.

This is one of the finest original 3000's in existence.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
