Car was at auction 5/10/06
http://www.brightwells.com/3rdparty/orphanspress/classiccars/results_cars.php?sale=100506#
Auction description:
Body colour: Blue/white
Date Manufactured: 1966
Registration Number: GFD300D
Chassis Number: HBJ8/35111
Driver Side: right
History:
As it's Green Logbook confirms, this particular car was first supplied to The Broadway Garage, Dudley, on 1st March 1966. It then had three keepers before the current owner acquired it in March 1973. For two years he used it daily to commute to his engineering works in Birmingham before taking it off the road in 1974 for a complete overhaul. Some of the bills relating to this work have unfortunately been lost as they were put through the company's books. However the owner well remembers that the engine was rebuilt by Don Little at Littleton Service Station, Hayley Green, then renowned for preparing competition cars. The work included balancing the engine, crank and clutch, rebuilding and tuning the carbs, and renewing the entire suspension system.
At the same time the rear wings were treated to some re-metalling by Perry Bros of Andover Street, Birmingham, and new front wings were fitted, supplied by AH Spares of Leamington Spa. For the next six years the newly rejuvenated car was used only on high days and holidays until 1981 when the owner moved house and parked the car up in a dry garage.
From that day to this it has not turned a wheel. With top examples of this model now fetching in excess of ?30,000 this is a fantastic opportunity for someone to bag a potential gem of a car that will amply reward the sympathetic re-commissioning work that is now required.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: The vendor has now found some more bills relating to work carried out on the car. The suspension was overhauled on 9th April 1974. The engine was "rebuilt as new" on 2nd July 1974 when the mileometer reading was 66,309. The car also comes with it's original boot rack and tonneau cover, a spare camshaft and spare cam cover.
Guide price 13,000

In December 2020, another car claiming the same VIN (except with the "L" in the VIN signifying an original left-hand drive car, is being advertised for sale by a dealer. These are obviously two different cars. There can't be two cars with the same chassis number.
