This beautiful grand tourer offers all the amenities which make this model the fastest, safest, most comfortable and user-friendly of the whole line. Final improvements and upgrades include the 150hp engine, centershift transmission, power brakes, trailing arm softer rear suspension, walnut fascia dashboard, fold down luggage shelf, armrests, armbars, center console and quieter exhaust system. This exceptional example offered for sale here has just completed a thorough restoration by premier marque specialist Kurt Tanner Restorations. Purchased last year from only its third owner, this California delivered Black Plate BJ-8 is a rare offering in that it is 1 of 553 factory produced Metallic Golden Beige cars as proven by its BMIHT Certificate. Details of the restoration include show quality body and paint work in base coat/clear coat, new chrome, rubber, glass, leather trim, top, top boot, chrome wire wheels and radial tires, cadmium plated hardware, new wiring harness and electrics, fuel system, sports exhaust system, detailed driveline and undercarriage, etc. All work and detailing has been carried out to Austin-Healey Club Coucours Gold standards and the finest materials have been used. This Mark III BJ8 is a finely restored example of the most desirable of all 3000s. Restored by premier marque specialist Kurt Tanner Restorations, this example is reportedly a joy to drive. Benefitting from long-term recent ownership, the example offered is ready for its next caretaker. Finished in the attractive and original combination of Golden Beige Metallic with black upholstery, a more classic color combination couldn’t be had.

Included with the car is its original California black license plate, a binder with photographs of the restoration, black tonneau cover, tool roll, matching spare with leather belt holder, and its British Motor Industry Heritage Trust certificate. The consignor states there are zero aftermarket accessories on the car.

Ideal for weekend drives and equally at home on driving tours, this Austin-Healey is the quintessential British sports car.
