This 1964 Austin-Healey 3000 BJ8 Mk III spent years in Florida before being subjected to a rotisserie refurbishment by a prior owner between 2014 and 2017, when it was repainted in California Sage over tan leather upholstery with green piping. A Tremec five-speed manual transmission has been adapted to the 2.9-liter inline-six, and other features include a green soft top, front disc brakes, Vintage Air climate control, a burl wood dashboard, green carpeting, a wood-rimmed steering wheel, dual SU carburetors, an aluminum radiator, an auxiliary electric cooling fan, and an alternator. This 3000 Mk III was acquired by the selling dealer in January 2026 and is now offered with 15 albums of photos documenting the refurbishment, removed and spare parts, workshop manuals, and a clean Georgia title.
The refurbishment that was completed in late 2017 included disassembly and paint work, the interior was redone, the engine was rebuilt, the transmission was replaced, and the brakes and electrical systems were overhauled.
Previous finished in white, the car was stripped and repainted in California Sage during the refurbishment, the seller states. The green soft top has been replaced, and other equipment includes a hood scoop, fender-mounted mirrors, bright trim, dual exhaust outlets, and chrome bumpers with overriders.
Chrome-finished 15″ knock-off wire wheels are mounted with 185/65 Michelin Premier A/S tires. Braking is handled by front discs and rear drums.
The 2+2 cabin features bucket seats trimmed in tan leather with green piping. The burl wood dashboard was refurbished under prior ownership, and sound-deadening material was applied before replacement green carpeting was installed. Other interior appointments include Vintage Air climate control, a center console, a locking glovebox, a heater, front lap belts, floor mats, and bright doorsill trim. A quartz-movement clock forms the pedestal base for the rearview mirror, although the clock is inoperable.
The wood-rimmed steering wheel frames Smiths black-dial instrumentation consisting of a 140-mph speedometer, a 7k-rpm tachometer, a gauge for fuel level, and a combination gauge displaying oil pressure and water temperature. The five-digit odometer shows 80k miles, approximately 150 of which were added by the selling dealer.
The 2.9-liter inline-six featured dual SU HD8 carburetors from the factory for a rating of 150 horsepower and 173 lb-ft of torque. The engine was rebuilt during the refurbishment, and it is augmented by an alternator, a Wizard Cooling aluminum radiator, and an auxiliary electric cooling fan.
Power is sent to the rear wheels via a Tremec five-speed manual transmission and a custom driveshaft.
Approximately 1,500 photos captured during the refurbishment are contained in 15 albums. The accompanying removed spares include a radiator, a three-blade fan, and a driveshaft as well as smaller parts are included.
