Sellers description:
1966 Austin Healey 3000 Mark III British convertible sports car that has 2+2 seating and odometer states 56,786 miles. It ran when it was stored in a garage in 1994 and then did not move until I purchased the car about 8 months ago. The car has all the features of the later model 3000’s with the raised rear suspension, push button door handles, roll up windows, rear signal lights, and rear seats. The car overall is an excellent candidate for restoration and would require minimal complete parts replacement. Here is a more in depth description of the car from all aspects:

Exterior:
All body panels on this car are straight and have no major dents or damage. There are some minor dents on the front shroud from what appeared to be caused by a previous tow. There is some rust through on the rear panels (both sides) between the wheel wells and the doors (Victoria British sells this lower fender part without having to replace the entire rear panel). The soft top needs to be replaced as the stitches have let go in some places and the rear window will no longer zip shut. All glass in the doors and front windshield appears to be original, but are in good shape. All chrome is with the car and intact. Some chrome items may need to be re-plated, but overall chrome is in really good shape.

Interior:
The interior of this car is really in good shape. The wood dash and glove box finish is still very nice looking. All of the switch panels, radio, speaker covers show nicely (the speaker cover pops off occasionally). The front seats, rear seats, door panels, dashboard (not wood part), center console all have normal wear and tear. The carpet needs to be replaced. The door handles and window cranks work with minimal labor. The top goes up and down with minimal labor as well. The floor panels do not have any apparent rust through.

Mechanics:
This car does not currently run. It rolls and steers fine. The engine is not frozen turns with ease. With some minor work I think this car could run. The car has the original wiring harness and it needs to be replaced. The transmission shifts into all gears. Suspension is intact with all components aged according to the rest of the car. The frame and chassis appear to be strong and solid with only cosmetic rust.

Extras:
I have a brand new dark blue Tonneau cover to go along with this. All the Tennax sockets are brand new and have not been attached to the cover yet.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
