This 1964 Austin-Healey 3000 BJ8 Mk III is said to have been refurbished around 2017 and is finished in British Racing Green over black leather. The 2.9-liter inline-six is paired with a four-speed manual transmission with overdrive. Other equipment includes a black soft top and a matching top boot as well as dual SU carburetors, an aluminum radiator, 15″ knock-off wire wheels, front disc brakes, side mirrors, and a Moto-Lita wood-rimmed steering wheel. This Healey was acquired by the current owner in 2025 and is now offered in Connecticut on dealer consignment with a Virginia title.
The car has been repainted in British Racing Green, according to the seller, and the chrome elements have been replaced. The folding black soft top and the matching top boot also have been replaced. Features include a hood scoop, fender-mounted side mirrors, dual exhaust outlets, bright trim, and chrome bumpers with overriders.
Silver-painted 15″ knock-off wire wheels are mounted with 165/80 Thunderer Mach I tires. Braking is handled by front discs and rear drums.
The 2+2 cabin has been refurbished and features bucket seats trimmed in black leather. Interior appointments include a wood dashboard fascia, a center console, front lap belts, a dash-mounted rearview mirror, a center console, seatbelts, a locking glovebox, black carpeting, and rubber floor mats.
The Moto-Lita wood-rimmed steering wheel frames Smiths black-dial instrumentation consisting of a 140-mph speedometer, a 7k-rpm tachometer, a fuel-level gauge, and a combination readout displaying oil pressure and water temperature. The five-digit odometer shows 20k miles, less than 10 of which were added under current ownership. The seller states that the odometer reading is not accurate, and true mileage is unknown.
The 2.9-liter inline-six is said to have been replaced. It is complemented by dual SU carburetors and an aluminum radiator.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission with Laycock de Normanville electric overdrive.
The replacement identification tag displays HBJ8L30090, which is cited on the vehicle’s Virginia title.
