Lot 100 of 117: 1966 Austin-Healey 3000 MKIII
Estimate: £40,000 - £45,000
Registration No:MVG130C
Chassis No:HBJ8L30741
MOT:September 2019
This Phase 2 example rolled off the Abingdon production line on January 14th 1965 and was despatched to the dealer in New York two months later. The accompanying Heritage Certificate shows it to have been equipped with wire wheels, overdrive, heater, adjustable steering column and a laminated windscreen, all of which desirable items were still evident when it returned to these shores in 1995, at which point it was converted to righthand drive. Since then the Healey has been equipped with electronic ignition, a side-exhaust system, anti-roll bar, replacement dampers plus more recently a new mohair hood and retrimmed interior. 'MVG 130C' has apparently flown through its last seven MOT tests with no advisories, and is currently considered by the vendor to have 'very good' Red interior trim and 'good' bodywork, White paintwork, six-cylinder engine and four-speed manual gearbox. He is now offering the car complete with the aforementioned Heritage Certificate, sundry invoices and several old MOT certificates, plus one valid into September.

1965 Austin Healey 3000 MK III BJ8
Lot Number:
Estimate: £35,000 - 40,000
V5 Present
MoT Exempt
Chassis number: HBJ8L30741
An original UK car built left‑hand drive in January 1965 and despatched to New York, USA in March 1965. Extra equipment when new included wire wheels, overdrive, heater, adjustable steering column and laminated windscreen. We have been advised that the car previously resided in Florida until import into the UK in 1989. It was converted to right‑hand drive before it's first registration in 1995. Owned by the last registered keeper since 2006, the car has been subject to many works including brakes, king pins, rear springs, fuel lines, new fuel pump, radiator, water pump, shocks and brushes to suspension and electric wiring through the steering column. In 2008, the car was subject to a bare metal restoration when it was re‑painted in two‑pack in Old English white and extra items fitted including side exiting exhaust, Mota‑Lita steering wheel and upgraded front anti‑roll bar and racing mirror. During his twelve year ownership, he advises that the car has been garage stored and used only in the summer months on Healey Club runs and visits to country hotels, etc., It comes complete with spare wheel, full tonneau cover, jack and copper wheel spinner hammer. The history file contains Heritage certificate, HM Customs and Excise duty receipt dated 1989, MoTs dating from 1995 to 2018, many receipts dating from the 1990's to 2018, tax discs and some photos. The mileage is recorded at 62,891.
