This 1965 Austin-Healey 3000 BJ8 Mk III was acquired by the current owner in 2000, and the car has since been refinished in blue, and the interior has been retrimmed in blue leather with white piping. Power is provided by a 2.9-liter inline-six paired with a four-speed manual transmission with overdrive. Work since 2025 has included servicing the overdrive unit, changing fluids, rebuilding the front brake calipers, and replacing the front brake pads, the brake servo, and the clutch slave cylinder. Features include a blue soft top, 15″ knock-off wire wheels, a hood scoop, a push-button radio, and a wood-rimmed steering wheel. This 3000 Mk III is now offered in Connecticut on dealer consignment with a British Motor Industry Heritage Trust certificate and a clean Mississippi title.

Specified from the factory in Healey Blue, the car was repainted in 2023. It has a blue soft top and top boot, a hood scoop, bright trim, and chrome bumpers with overriders. The headlight wiring was repaired in preparation for the sale. Various trim pieces, including the top of the windshield and around the doors, are missing.

Knock-off 15″ wire wheels are mounted with Dunlop SP4 tires, which the selling dealer notes should be replaced. In 2025, the brake fluid was changed, the front calipers were rebuilt, and the brake servo was replaced. Rust on brake and suspension components is reported, and the selling dealer states that the car needs an alignment.

The 2+2 cabin was retrimmed in blue leather with white piping in 2023, and the dash pad was replaced in 2025. Appointments include a push-button radio, a cabin heater, a locking glovebox, and wood trim. The window cranks require replacement, the glovebox is stuck shut, and the dash material is pulling away around the air vents.

A wood-rimmed steering wheel frames Smiths black-dial instrumentation, and the 140-mph speedometer and tachometer were cleaned in 2025. The five-digit odometer shows 61k miles, approximately 20K of which were added under current ownership.

The 2.9-liter inline-six featured dual SU HD8 carburetors from the factory for a rating of 150 horsepower and 173 lb-ft of torque. The coolant and engine oil were changed in 2025, while a leak at the oil pan gasket was repaired in 2026.

The engine is backed by a four-speed manual transmission with Laycock de Normanville electric overdrive. The clutch slave cylinder was replaced in 2025, and the overdrive unit was fitted with a replacement solenoid.
