Consignment # 2096
VIN: HBJ8L35575
Vehicle to be offered for Auction sale January 14th - 18th, 2015 at Russo and Steele's 15th Annual Scottsdale Arizona Auction.
An award winner, this 1966 Austin Healey 3000 is fully documented by the Austin Healey Concours Registry to meet the Gold level standard. No expense was spared during a complete nut and bolt rotisserie restoration by a world renowned Healey Marque specialist with special emphasis on all factory original details including the original crayon number markings on the driveshaft tunnel and door interiors. The new wiring harness had looming matched to the original with all terminals (bullets, forks, eyelets) transferred to the new harness from the original harness. The boot area is complete including tonneau, jack, tool kit and owners manual. All mechanical components were restored back to factory new condition while retaining all of the original glass, door locks and keys.
This one of a kind BJ8 was featured in the September 2009 issue of Austin Healey magazine as an excellent example BJ8 meeting factory original specifications and details. This Mark III BJ8 sports a stunningly beautiful and unique blue leather seat option, power assisted brakes and radio per its British Motor Industry Heritage Trust (BMIHT) certificate. Featured on the cover of Austin Healey magazine and multiple calendars, it will be no stranger to the winner circle at your favorite car show. Powered by a matching number 2,912cc 6-cylinder engine, this car drives as well as it looks, winning the Gymkhana Stock BJ8 class at Pikes Peak Raceway during the 2011 Colorado Conclave. Simply put, this gorgeous Austin Healey is arguably the finest BJ8 on the planet.
