Auction description:
Lot 131 - 1966 Austin-Healey 3000 Mk III, Phase II
Estimate: £22,000 - £28,000
Registration Number: GUF 898D

This fine example is finished in Colorado red with chrome wire wheels and a contrasting black interior. The owner has informed us that the car underwent a thorough restoration between 1990 and 1992 while maintaining the original specification. Purchased by the current owner in 1996 and was used regularly for 2 years, subsequently used sparingly at weekends and on holidays. The owner reports that the car has been regularly maintained and upgraded where necessary, This includes subtle modifications such as converting to alternator and electronic ignition. Also, cooling enhancements and the fitment of knock-off wheels.
The engine has benefitted from a top end rebuild and the overdrive unit has recently been replaced with a reconditioned unit with invoices available for the work carried out. Supplied in the history file, are old MoT certificates dating to back to 1996 along with other sundry documentation including a V5 document, Heritage Trust Certificate and a current MoT certificate valid until June next year.
The owner informs us this matching numbers example is in tidy condition throughout and in true Healey tradition is equally at home as a club racer or as a fast exciting Sunday blast. A fine example of a true British classic.
