I saw the remains of 37455 sitting in weeds behind a house in Mechanicsville, Virginia on 23 November 2003. There was nothing left of it except a bit of inner chassis sheet metal and the VIN plate on the firewall. Yes, the original engine was 29K/RU/H12116, but the engine was no longer with the car. The BJ8 Registry has a record of one owner in Florida in the mid-1980s, but contact information was no longer valid and I was unable to determine how the car got to Virginia and deteriorated to such a state. I understand that whatever remains there were ended up in England, but the car that left the factory with the chassis number 37455 no longer exists.

Correction: the only thing left on the firewall was the body number plate, which BMIHT determines belonged to HBJ8L/37455.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
