This 1967 Austin-Healey 3000 BJ8 Mk III was acquired by the current owner in 2012, and work is said to have since included replacing the frame, performing a repaint, refreshing the interior, and overhauling the engine and transmission. The car is finished in Healey Blue and Ivory White over black vinyl, and it is powered by a 2.9-liter inline-six paired with a four-speed manual transmission. Features include a black soft top, 15″ knock-off wire wheels, front disc brakes, a top boot, a tonneau cover, a hood scoop, and front bucket seats. This 3000 Mk III is now offered by the seller on behalf of the current owner in Torrance, California with service records and a clean New Mexico title in the owner’s name.
The car is finished in Healey Blue and Ivory White and was repainted and fitted with a replacement frame in the mid-2010s. Features include a folding black soft top, a top boot, a tonneau cover, a hood scoop, bright trim, and chrome bumpers with overriders.
The 15″ knock-off wire wheels are mounted with Federal Super Steel 657 tires measuring 165/80. Braking is handled by front discs and rear drums.
The two-plus-two cabin was refreshed under current ownership and features bucket seats trimmed in black vinyl. Interior appointments include a center console, a locking glovebox, and wood trim.
The banjo-style steering wheel frames Smiths black-dial instrumentation consisting of a 140-mph speedometer, a 7k-rpm tachometer, a fuel-level gauge, and a combination gauge displaying oil pressure and water temperature. The five-digit odometer shows 33k miles.
The 2.9-liter inline-six featured dual SU HD8 carburetors from the factory for a rating of 150 horsepower and 173 lb-ft of torque. The engine was rebuilt in 2012 and fitted with a replacement exhaust manifold.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission with Laycock-de Normanville electric overdrive. The transmission was reportedly overhauled and the clutch replaced in the 2010s.
