This 1967 Austin-Healey 3000 BJ8 Mk III was acquired by the current owner’s father in 1976 and underwent a color change to Golden Beige as part of a refurbishment completed by Harwood Enterprises in New York. The car wears a black soft top over red leather interior upholstery and rides on 15″ knock-off wire wheels. Power is supplied by a 2.9-liter inline-six equipped with dual SU carburetors, while shifting is through a four-speed manual transmission and an electrically actuated overdrive unit. Further equipment includes Lucas driving lights, a Moto-Lita steering wheel, and a Falcon stainless-steel exhaust system. This 3000 Mk III is now offered on dealer consignment with a British Motor Industry Heritage Trust certificate, refurbishment photos, and a Washington State title in the owner’s name.
Previously finished in Ivory White, the car underwent body and chassis repairs prior to being repainted in its current Golden Beige finish as part of the aforementioned refurbishment. The black cloth soft top is paired with a matching top boot, and further details include a hood scoop, Lucas driving lights, and chrome bumpers with overriders.
The 15″ wire wheels are secured by two-ear knock-offs and mounted with 165-width Vredestein tires. Braking is handled by front discs and rear drums.
The 2+2 seats are said to have been reupholstered in red leather as part of the refurbishment project. Color-coordinated upholstery extends to the dash and center console along with the doors, and woodgrain trim is fitted on either side of the center stack. Further interior appointments include a cabin heater, a lockable glovebox, and a dash-mounted mirror.
The wood-rimmed Moto-Lita steering wheel frames Smiths black-dial instrumentation consisting of a 140-mph speedometer, a 7k-rpm tachometer, a fuel-level gauge, and a combination gauge displaying oil pressure and water temperature. The five-digit odometer shows 56k miles.
The 2.9-liter inline-six featured dual SU HD8 carburetors from the factory for a rating of 150 horsepower and 173 lb-ft of torque.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission and an electrically actuated overdrive unit. The car is further equipped with a Falcon stainless-steel exhaust system.
The British Motor Industry Heritage Trust Certificate for car number HBJ8L40437 lists a build date of February 1967 along with factory colors and equipment.
Car number HBJ8L40437 appears on a reproduction chassis plate affixed to the firewall.
The current Washington State title carries a Classic brand.
