This spectacular Austin Healey 3000 Mark III is amongst the most highly coveted and fastest appreciating of all Austin-Healeys. This particular example benefits from being the last year of production. The new black interior is finished in correct materials and is in very good condition. The car is painted in the highly attractive and quite rare Healey Golden-Beige Metallic, a very rare color used for just one year in 1967 to commemorate the end of production for Austin-Healey. The car has accrued less than 1500 miles since it received a complete frame-off restoration, and the odometer shows the original mileage of less than 82,000 miles. The previous owner acquired this car from Classic Showcase in San Diego, CA shortly after the restoration was completed. The paintwork is excellent and shows very well. The engine bay, wheel wells, undercarriage, and all other less-visible areas have been detailed to show quality. During this restoration all mechanicals gone through, making this car a real turn-key classic ready to drive or show. This car won Best In Class winner at the prestigious Greenwich Concours d'Elegance and is in the same magnificent condition as it was at that time. Comprehensive photo documentation of the restoration, and the Heritage Certificate are included with the sale

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
