i am the second owner of this car. I inherited it 12 or so years ago from my father who purchased the car new on 1/30/1968 from Manhattan Auto Inc. at 1701 7th St., N.W. Washington D.C.

Car has sat garaged from 2012 until it was delivered to British European Auto in San Pedro California to bring it back to life. Car should be driving/on the road within the next 30-45 days. i do not know what the heritage certificate is but the car has been in my family since my dad purchased it in January 1968. I obtained my specific information from the "your passport to BMC service" that was given to my dad on purchase and the small metal plate later received and added to booklet

The "Heritage Certificate" is a document you can order from the British Motor Industry Heritage Trust. It lists all of the original manufacturing details for a car, such as body, engine serial, gearbox and rear axle serial, original body and trim colors, manufacturing date, shipping date and destination, original optional equipment installed. More information about that if you contact the BJ8 Registry (Google it).

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
