Ebay item 6/19/08 cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Cars-Trucks___Healey-3000-BN-7-Right-Hand-Drive-NO-RESER ...
Current bid $12,100, 15 bids, 1 day left in auction.
Sellers description:
Here's a rare opportunity to own one of only 188 right hand drive BN 7 ( two seat) Healey 3000's made. THIS car is the real deal !! It has a RUST FREE main frame !! It was sold and delivered new in Great Britain, then shipped to the U.S. Sold at NO RESERVE ! I have a rare business opportunity and need the cash. I had planned on keeping it and restoring it someday. Its 100% complete, most of the parts are packed in boxes. Its disassembled as you can see. I'm obviously showing pictures of the condition of the sheet metal , because that's the biggest concern as to value. This was a fully functioning car up until 1990 when the previous owner completely disassembled it for restoration. He paid to have the chassis sandblasted to bare steel and a coat of primer sprayed on it. The car came new with a hartop and must have had it fitted constantly from new: The main frame rails , crossmembers and center cruiciform on this car are straight and not rusted out at all !!! The front shroud and hood are dead straight and free of any filler, the same with the rear shroud. The car has suffered minor to the left front fender and inner wheel well , but that is the extent of the collision damage. It probably needs at least two of the four sill out riggers replaced. The main floors and footwells are fine. THE BODY NEEDS TYPICAL REPAIR TO THE OUTER SKIN , but the shrouds are very nice and not bunged up. Of course its a MATCHING numbers engine , The gearbox was rebuilt by Gary Hemphil of Hemphil's Healey Haven , so I'm sure its ready to bolt in. The engine turns by hand and feels fine. Here's your chance to do a Healey right !! Why buy a " restored" Healey that's had the main frame rails patched , when you can see exactly what your getting with this one ! I don't care what the "experts" say, once a Healey has had rust in the main frame rails , it will never be as good as this one !! This car is complete , the guages , lamps , etc. are all usable as is and in good condition. Of course the top bow and top are there as well as a tonneau. No tools or jack. New; inner sills, outer sills, hinge and shut panels, front fender lower panels, odds and ends. The original VIN plate was miss stamped as a BT7 when at the factory, but obviously the car is an original BN7.
Why restore a 100-6 or a 2+2 3000 when THIS is the body style to restore ! You'll have the only right hand drive , "true" two seat Healey in the crowd.
