* Beautifully Restored to a High Standard

* An Iconic British Sports Car
The 1961 Austin-Healey 3000 MK I BN7 Roadster presented here is a fine representative of one of the most beloved British sports cars. This highly desirable two-seat roadster is finished in the spectacular two-tone combination of red over black, a popular factory color combination that emphasizes the classic sporting lines of the first generation 3000. The quality of the paintwork is quite impressive and is complemented by a set of chrome wire wheels wrapped in period-correct Dunlop tires.
The distinctive two-tone interior is a perfect match for the bold exterior appearance and features all the proper equipment, including Smiths gauges, an original banjo-style steering wheel and a heater. The functional cockpit is roomy enough to accommodate taller drivers, which was not always the case with some of the earliest Big Healeys.
The engine bay is carefully detailed as well and features a number of desirable features including a polished valve cover with Austin-Healey script, a Lucas sport coil and Champion spark plug accessories. The straight six engine develops its power and torque in a relatively conservative range, indicating that this is a sports car that can cruise easily without the need for constant stirring of the gearbox. If the overdrive, actuated by a dashboard switch, does its job properly, the Big Healey has long legs – perfect for touring at modern highway speeds.
With its traditional sports car appearance, vintage character and striking presence, this rare two-seat Healey is an excellent choice for the enthusiast yearning to experience the timeless classic that is the Healey 3000. Popular since their introduction, the charm of these British roadsters has earned them a devoted following and Big Healeys can be found in the collections of weekend tinkerers as well as those of internationally regarded connoisseurs, tempting their owners to set out on leisurely drives during sunny weekends.
